SARAKSHI'S POV-
With the feeling of his warm lips still lingering on my forehead and a wide smile on my face, I turned around to head inside. I was actually smiling like a teenage girl who is madly in love.
But as I turned, I was met with the teasing glances of my two lovely friends who don't look lovely at all right now. Ananya and Vivaan stood there, wiggling their eyebrows with smirks so smug that I wanted the ground to swallow me whole.
I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to be deeply fascinated by the cracks on the wall. But the heat rising to my cheeks betrayed me. Had they seen everything? Had they seen him kiss my forehead? My heart pounded at the possibility. But...it wasn't like he kissed me on the lips, so that's fine. Right?
Maybe one day, he will kiss me on the lips. And that would be so fascinating...
Okay, stop. Shut up, Sarakshi! You pervert. Get a hold of yourself!
I shook my head, trying to convince myself. They didn't see anything. They didn't see anything. Yes, they absolutely did not see anything.
"W-why are you guys here and not in class?" I asked, standing in front of them, struggling to keep my voice neutral. I tried my best to look directly at them, but making eye contact felt like willingly stepping into a furnace.
"Ma'am dismissed the class since she had some work," Vivaan replied with a shrug. I nodded quickly, relieved.
"Oh, great! Then let's go grab something to eat," I suggested, hoping to change the subject.
"Oh, you're hungry? I thought you were already full from Mr. Singh's love," Ananya teased coyly.
My eyes widened, and I nearly choked on air. My hands clenched into fists as I cursed under my breath. They saw it.
Why do they always see everything?
Why are they always there when something happens?
"S-shut up and follow me," I sputtered, pushing past them as I made my way to the cafeteria. I could hear their laughter trailing behind me, their voices filled with amusement as they relived my moment of embarrassment.
I walked faster, trying to escape their teasing remarks.
We eventually settled in the cafeteria, munching on snacks while talking about random things. I tried to engage in the conversation, but my mind kept wandering back to him. To Mr. Singh. His piercing eyes, his deep voice, the way he looked at me—ugh! Why was it so hard not to think about him?
How am I going to live without him?
I shook my head, pushing the thought away. But just as we were about to leave, someone unexpected appeared in front of us—Mayank. He is from science department.
He was one of the popular guys in college. Tall, charming, and known by everyone. But unlike the typical "popular" guys, he wasn't arrogant or rude. In fact, he was probably the only genuinely humble one among them. Yet, despite knowing he was a good guy, I always found myself uneasy around most guys in college except Vivaan. But that was my problem, not theirs.
"What's up, guys?" he greeted with a bright smile, giving Vivaan a fist bump.
"All great. What about you?" Ananya responded casually, while I simply nodded, offering him a small smile.
"All good," he said, his deep yet cheerful voice cutting through the noise of the cafeteria. But even his voice was nothing compared to my rude Singh.
