AUTHOR'S POV
After exiting the main temple, the family visited the smaller shrines scattered around the complex-each one echoing peace and grace. They moved together, hands folded in prayer, hearts brimming with quiet gratitude.
Pichu, ever the energetic one, walked ahead with Rajiv, bouncing with every step, trying to mimic the exact way his dadu offered prayers. Behind them, the rest of the family followed-Sarakshi and Rashvik walking side by side, with Reyansh and Rakshit trailing close, teasing each other and chatting.
And just like that, the morning unfolded beautifully, slowly, warmly without anyone even realizing. It wasn't just another day. It became one stitched with meaning, with laughter, with togetherness.
After all the temple visits, one thing quickly rose to the top of everyone's priority list....breakfast. The Singh brothers were officially on the edge of hangry.
They weren't used to staying hungry this long and it showed, especially on Rakshit's face, who looked like he might chew someone's arm off soon. Only Reyansh looked relatively calm, loyal to his "eat to live, not live to eat" lifestyle.
They finally made their way to a cozy breakfast spot. The kind of place with warm light filtering in through old windows and the scent of buttered parathas in the air. Laughter and teasing filled the table immediately.
That is until Rashvik's phone rang.
He excused himself politely and stepped aside to take the call, something about a deal from the day before. Sarakshi's eyes followed him, and then she smirked.
Reyansh noticed. "What are you planning, bhabhi?" he asked, folding his arms and leaning back in his chair.
"I don't know why," she said with a wicked little grin, squeezing her fists in mock frustration, "but I just love messing with your bhaiya. It gives me joy."
Rajiv chuckled under his breath while Rakshit leaned forward with enthusiasm. "I know that feeling too well," he said, giving her a fist bump with a nod. "I'm with you."
"Bhai is coming!" Reyansh warned, spotting Rashvik returning while typing something on his phone.
"Wait and watch," Sarakshi said quickly, putting on the most dramatic angry-wife face anyone had ever seen-arms folded, jaw set, eyes narrowed. Bollywood-worthy.
Rashvik sat back at the table, still focused on typing. Then... he felt it.
The silence.
He looked up. Everyone was watching him.
His brows furrowed. "What?" he asked, a little unnerved.
Still, silence.
He scanned each face, confused until his eyes landed on Sarakshi. The sharp glare she gave him made his stomach twist. She turned away with a huff.
What did I do now? he panicked inwardly, replaying the last few minutes of his life.
He chuckled nervously. "Guys? What happened?"
Nothing.
He tried again, this time more serious. "Okay, seriously. What's going on?"
Reyansh and Rakshit shrugged and jerked their heads toward Sarakshi.
