AUTHOR'S POV-

Morning had arrived blissfully. The serenity of soft golden light filtering through the curtains and the rhythm of calm breaths made the Singh mansion appear even more beautiful than before.

It was only 5:30 in the morning. The entire house was still asleep in their respective rooms even Rajiv, who never missed his morning run, hadn't stirred yet. But in one particular room, nestled safely between his parents, their tiny little creature was fighting the biggest battle of his life: whether to continue sleeping or wake the world up with his existence.

Pichu slept sprawled like a starfish between them, one tiny hand resting on Sarakshi's cheek while the other claimed Rashvik's face as his pillow. Every few moments he twisted and turned in his sleep, scratching his cheek absentmindedly before rolling toward the other side again.

First toward his mumma. Then toward his dadda. Then back again.

As though the baby simply couldn't decide whose warmth he wanted more.

Or perhaps he was searching for the perfect sleeping position only babies seemed capable of understanding.

And this little ritual continued for the next fifteen minutes. Half-asleep, Sarakshi instinctively patted his tummy soothingly. When he rolled over onto his stomach with both hands tucked adorably beneath the curve of his neck, she shifted to rubbing slow circles on his back, her movements automatic even in sleep.

Pichu finally turned his face sideways toward her.

Groggily, Sarakshi peeked at him through barely open lashes. A sleepy smile tugged at her lips.

"Oiii..." she mumbled softly.

The baby instantly giggled.

"Ayee..." he squealed back in his baby language, all tiny teeth on display as he excitedly patted her cheeks.

His happiness was so pure that Sarakshi couldn't help the faint chuckle escaping her.

Abruptly, Pichu turned toward Rashvik on the other side and repeated the same thing, patting his father's cheeks repeatedly as if demanding equal attention. But unlike Sarakshi, Rashvik was in a sleep so deep that even the baby's enthusiastic slaps failed to wake him. He stirred once but got back to sleep again, not completely but didn't open his eyes either.

Pichu frowned.

A tiny offended pout formed on his lips.

He smacked Rashvik's cheek once more. Harder this time. Rashvik removed Pichu's hand from his face and turned his head a little away.

The baby gasped dramatically, looking utterly betrayed by the lack of response.

Then immediately he turned back toward Sarakshi, babbling complaints in his incoherent little language while smacking her arm as if tattling on his sleeping father.

Sarakshi, barely awake, hummed in amusement and pulled him closer to her chest.

But only a few minutes later, exhausted from his own games, Pichu finally quietened. His tiny body relaxed against the mattress, eyelids drooping heavily as sleep slowly reclaimed him.

The room returned to silence.

Soft breaths, warmth and peace filled the place.

Just as Sarakshi was about to drift back to sleep too, Pichu abruptly sat up, throwing his little blanket away with his legs.
