AUTHOR'S POV-
The next morning, Sarakshi groggily opened her eyes, her senses slowly registering the comforting warmth surrounding her. A protective, almost featherlight hand rested atop her head, while another lay securely around her waist, holding her close. The steady rise and fall of his chest beneath her, the rhythmic beat of his heart, and the warmth radiating from his body—all of it felt like home.
And if anyone thought blushing right after waking up was impossible, Sarakshi was here to prove them wrong.
Her cheeks turned a soft shade of crimson as she took in the situation, her mind finally catching up to the reality of their sleeping position. She was wrapped in his embrace, cocooned in a protective hold that spoke of care even in unconsciousness. Carefully, she lifted her head from his chest and glanced up at him, her eyes brimming with love and admiration.
His face, usually so sharp and composed, was peaceful in slumber—almost childlike. The contrast between his towering frame and the sheer innocence of his sleeping expression made her heart swell. A smile played on her lips, her blush deepening as she continued to gaze at him. Unable to resist, she leaned in and gently rested her forehead against his chin, savoring the quiet intimacy of the moment.
She had planned to pull away after a few moments, to start the day, but the second the warmth of his hold lessened, a pang of longing made her lean back in.
Snuggling closer, she tightened her grip around him as if he might slip away if she let go. Her head found refuge in the crook of his neck, his warmth seeping into her skin, making her sigh in contentment. The soft scent of him—comforting and familiar—lulled her into a blissful daze.
Sarakshi had never been a morning person. If anything, she used to despise waking up early. But ever since their marriage, mornings had become her favorite time of day. Because now, every morning, she woke up to this—a serene face, a protective embrace, a love she never expected but now cherished more than anything.
The world outside could wait. This moment, right here, was hers to savor.
The steady rhythm of his heartbeat, the slow and even sound of his breathing, the gentle weight of his arm around her—it was a symphony of tranquility, a feeling of belonging she never wanted to let go of.
With each passing day, she found herself falling deeper and deeper in love with him. And how could she not? His every action now spoke of care, of belonging, of a silent promise that she was his and he was hers. She felt blessed to have him, to love him in a way that words could never fully capture.
She knew what he had done before was wrong. The way he had acted, the things he had said—it all painted him as the villain in the eyes of the world. And yet, despite it all, he had changed. He had stopped himself before it was too late. His behavior had shifted, his walls had come down, and now, all she could see was the man he had become—a man she loved more than she ever thought possible.
She couldn't deny his mistakes, just as she couldn't deny that, if had she been in his place, she might have done the same. It was easy for the world to judge, to label him as the bad guy, but if they had walked in his shoes, lived through his pain, would they have acted any differently?
