AUTHOR'S POV-
After adoring Rashvik like there was no tomorrow, while simultaneously worrying about his health, Sarakshi gently pulled away. She carefully got up, freeing herself from his hold without disturbing him. But even as she moved, her eyes remained fixed on his face—concern etched deep into her features as she watched him breathe unevenly, his face slightly red and swollen, his body burning up with fever.
She stood there silently, heart aching, her gaze tender. But then a small smile broke across her face. Shaking her head shyly, she couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips. Even in sleep, Rashvik had that slight pout on his lips, his expression innocent and endearing.
"Agar shuru se hi aise rehte, toh aap bhi mere cutie hote," she whispered with a playful giggle, placing a soft kiss on his nose. "But no chance now."
(If you had been like this from the beginning, you would've been my cutie too.)
Just as her feet touched the floor, she heard a soft, whiny sound from the doorway. Her head whipped around and there stood Pichu. His tiny hand scratched his head sleepily, eyes half-closed, lips forming the cutest little pout.
He looked lost and drowsy as he waddled toward her, his brows furrowing, lips quivering like he might burst into tears at any moment.
"Ahummm..." he whimpered, stretching his arms toward her.
Sarakshi mimicked his pout, her eyes going wide in an exaggerated, comical way as he reached her.
"Mummaaa," he whined, his baby voice trembling with sleepiness and emotion. Without a word, he wrapped his tiny arms around her waist, burying his head against her stomach. His little fists clutched her top tightly, as if afraid she'd disappear.
Sarakshi immediately enveloped him in her arms, resting her cheek on his soft hair.
"Betuuu..." she cooed lovingly. "Kya hua mere babu ko? Kisne pareshan kiya?" Her voice was soft and soothing, her hands gently rubbing his back, knowing full well he was still caught in the haze of sleep.
(What happened to my babu? Who upset you?)
"Do you want to sleep?" she asked gently, her heart melting at the sight of her sleepy little boy clinging to her. He nodded without lifting his head, clutching her tighter.
"Come here," she said, lifting him into her arms with practiced ease. He snuggled into her, burying his face in the crook of her neck.
"Dadda is also sleeping. You want to sleep with him?" she asked sweetly, patting his head as she swayed him gently. Pichu gave a sleepy nod, his eyes fluttering shut again.
"Idhar hai ye bacha—I was scared," Rajiv said, walking in with damp hair and a towel draped over his shoulder. He'd just stepped out of the shower.
(here he is)
"Main naha ke nikla hu aur ye gayab," he added, walking over and ruffling Pichu's hair.
(I just got out of the shower and he was gone!)
Sarakshi narrowed her eyes at him playfully. "That's why my baby is sad so early in the morning. Aapne pareshan kiya hai mere bacche ko. He wanted someone when he woke up, but his bad dadu wasn't there!"
(you troubled my kid)
"Haww!" Rajiv gasped, feigning hurt.
"So bad dadu, so bad," Sarakshi repeated dramatically, shaking her head while looking down at Pichu, biting back a laugh.
