AUTHOR'S POV-

"You read my diary!?" Sarakshi gasped, stunned into disbelief, eyes wide and unblinking, staring straight at Rashvik as if he'd committed an unpardonable crime.

The room fell dead silent. Everyone turned toward Rashvik like the spotlight in a courtroom had just landed on him. Everyone except Prachi.

She subtly side-eyed Rashvik, clearly aware of what was coming-and just as clearly, afraid for him.

Rashvik, standing like a deer caught in headlights, threw a nervous side-eye back at her. I'm so dead, his look silently said. I'm going to die.

"Mr. Singh!" Sarakshi said firmly, folding her arms and raising an eyebrow, her voice suddenly calm-too calm. The kitchen, moments ago buzzing with laughter, now had the terrifying stillness of a courtroom.

He stared back at her, blinking slowly, softening his expression in a desperate attempt to charm his way out.

"I'm talking to you, husband," she said, taking a step closer.

That word-husband-sent a jolt through Rashvik, but it was the soft tone that deceived him. He relaxed, smiling slightly. Maybe she'd forgiven him?

He exhaled, relieved. "Look, I didn't mean to-"

"So you did read it!?" she cut in, dramatically gasping and stepping back like he had slapped her.

Everyone jumped.

Color drained from Rashvik's face. He blinked once. Twice.

"Oh crap," he muttered under his breath.

The sweet tone was a trap, and he'd walked straight into it, wide-eyed and unsuspecting.

"How could you, Mr. Rude!?" she demanded, genuinely baffled, hands flying up in disbelief. "That's my personal space!"

"Don't call me Mr. Rude," he mumbled defensively.

"I will call you that! In fact, you've earned it," she snapped.

Then turning dramatically to Rajiv, she whined, "Papa jiiii!"

Rajiv immediately glared at Rashvik like a disappointed principal. Wrapping an arm around Sarakshi protectively, he said, "Beta tum chinta mat karo. Main baat karta hu isse."

(beta, don't worry, let me talf to him)

He turned to Rashvik. "Haan bhai? Kya harkat hai ye? Kya padha tune?"

(what's this behavior? Why did you read it?)

"I swear, I didn't mean to! It was just... there!" Rashvik tried to explain, gesturing weakly.

"Ohh, it was just there," Sarakshi mocked, imitating him. "So you thought, 'Wah! Aaj kuch masala milega. Chalo diary padh lete hain'! What is this logic?"

(Oho! Today's gonna be interesting. Let's check the diary!)

Now her arms were crossed again, eyes narrowed like a very cute, very angry bird. Rashvik almost melted and smiled but held himself.

She turned toward the crowd, eyes sweeping dramatically. "Does everyone know about this or is this a grand revelation just for me?"

"Nope, didn't know," Reyansh and Rakshit said in unison, almost saluting with how quickly they cleared their names.
