Mel's POV

I grabbed onto her coat, leading Mystro and Elliot to separate me from her. "Mom, you can't be doing this," Elliot said.

"Don't tell me shit, I am sick of this woman." I was still trying to get her but I was lifted and placed on the other side, away from her.

"Mrs. Muir, I am only doing my job," Lemme said as she adjusted herself.

"Every time I walk into this hospital you have nothing but bad news. What the hell do you mean my son is not able to walk?"

"Mrs. Muir, may I speak?" the other doctor asked. I forgot her name right now.

"Speak!" I shouted, making her jump and stuttered as she spoke.

"Early yesterday we ran some tests on your son that we weren't satisfied with, we called in some specialist and they did some more tests. That's when we made our final diagnosis."

"That he wasn't able to walk?"

"Yes, Mrs. Muir," Lemme replied.

I took a deep breath before I asked. "Does he know?"

"Yes, he knows."

"How did he take it?" I asked.

"Well, we explained it to him, he listened and then wrote on the board that he understood."

"What can you do to fix this?" I asked.

"For now, he needs to get rest and when we are sure how much his body can manage then we can start therapy but it will take some time."

I didn't like the sound of this but there was nothing that I could do but listen to the doctors. Garrick will want to be up and running in no time for sure so he will definitely follow the doctors orders.

"Thank you doctors, I will go see my son."

They smiled politely then left us standing in the hallway. I was afraid to face Garrick after hearing this news. "It's like things just keep getting worse for him. What the hell can go wrong next?"

"Mom, we just have to take time and help with recovery, anything that makes him comfortable will help with his progression."

"You are definitely right Mystro, let's go see what he needs."

He was propped up on some pillows when we entered the room.

"I CAN'T WALK!" he held up the board with a smile on his face. A smile was the last thing I expected to see.

"That's what the doctors said but it won't be forever," Mystro said to him.

"WHEN DO I GET TO LEAVE HERE?"

"I am still waiting for the doctors to give us the ok."

"TAKE ME TO MY FATHER'S HOUSE."

"Umm.. Garrick. Don't you want to go to your home where your children are? I mean, I knew you said that but now with this new discovery—" He waved his hand for me to stop.

"I DON'T WANT MY KIDS TO SEE ME LIKE THIS."

"Garrick, they will be glad that you are just there," Mystro said. He placed the board beside him and leaned back onto the pillows. That meant he was done talking.

"We will take you wherever you want to go. Anything to make you comfortable, my love." He flashed a big smile and clapped his hands.

"Ok, let me go find the doctor and ask some questions."

"I will come with you mom, I have to keep you from getting caught in a lawsuit," Elliott said but Mystro knew he had to be there also.
