Mel's POV

"He hasn't said a word since he woke up, Doctor Lemme."

"Mrs. Muir, I really do understand your frustration but you have to give us time and allow us to do our job."

"You have already confirmed that he is not able to talk. You saw him, we've all seen him struggling with trying to get a word out."

"Mrs. Muir, again, your son had suffered a stroke. It might be a while for him to make a full recovery. For now, just give him all the support you can," She said then walked away.

I swear to God I will have a bullet with that woman's name on it. I held my composure and as I went back to Garrick's room. I did not want to see me sweat about his condition. It was early morning, and his visitors hadn't arrived yet.

"Good morning my love. Glad you are up. Do you want me to open your blinds?" He shook his head to say no.

"Ok, it's nice out. Hope you will change your mind. Look, I got you something." I pulled out the Little white he had given to me when I wasn't able to speak.

"Here, use this to communicate."

I wasn't sure if he was able to hold it but I placed It on his belly along with a marker. He looked at me and then at the board. My heart broke into pieces as I watched him fumbling until he got It.

"WHEN DO I GET TO LEAVE HERE?" He wrote.

Now I wanted to go find Lemme and slap that white coat off her big truck body. Looking like a neat little elephant.

"As soon as the doctors clear you," I replied. He rested the board onto his chest and closed his eyes. I didn't know what more to say, all I could do was sit beside him and rub his hand.

Stacy's POV

Every time I drove to the hospital I ended up staying in the parking lot. I couldn't find the courage to bring myself inside.

Maria video called me and I had to take it, she was trying to reach me for days now.

Maria: Stacy, are you ok?

Me: Yes, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I came back from Miami yesterday.

Maria: I don't understand. Your husband is in the hospital and you are in Miami?

Me: I was handling his business Maria. I am back now and will go see him soon.

Maria: Stacy, I really believe you should stop everything you are doing and go see your husband.

Me: Maria, I am about to leave the house now to go see him. I promise.

Maria: Good and call me when you get there so I can say hi to him.

Me: I will.

Maria: Alright. Go now.

I ended the call and sat on the bed for a little to catch my breath. Maria had never come off as judgmental until now and I was ashamed. It was weird how I had the power to do everything under the sun but face that man right now.

"Fuck it." I grabbed my car key and made my way to the hospital. I drove slowly, wishing I didn't have to do this but I had to get it out of my system.

This time I made it out of the parking lot and into the hospital. I stood at the front desk waiting for the nurse who was busy chatting away with another nurse.

"Hello?"

"Oh, Hello...?"

"Mrs. Walker, I am here to see my husband."
