Mel’s POV

I looked around the theater room and wondered how I ended up here?

“So no one is working today or has school?”

“I don't start school until next month. Please turn on our favorite show grandma,” LJ said.

He joined them, I couldn't believe what I was seeing before me.

“Mom, please turn on the TV. We already ordered breakfast,” Elliot said.

This has gotten out of hand and if Garrick ever finds out, I will be dead and I would totally deserve to be.

“Today will be the final viewing. I made a mistake and now this is going too far.

“Mel, just tun on the TV nuh man,” Cross said and I hissed my teeth.

“This is the last time, after today, I want everyone out of this man's house.”

They didn't care about anything I had to say, Garrick and Stacy’s life was pure entertainment at the moment. I even had Poppy on video call.

What have I done?

I gave in, flipped the switch for the lights to be dimmed then on came the giant screen and Garrick appeared.

“Then watch how Mel have mi boss inna bush look like Arawak,” Cross said and the entire room went into a laughing frenzy. Garrick did look like he was catching fish with spears.

“No man, why him look suh?” Someone shouted.

I couldn't help but to laugh with them. Why was my son looking like a cave man?

Napora Village

Chalkline’s POV

I stepped out of the hut and went in search of Stacy. “Whiskers, weh yuh mada?” He was trailing then I started following him, he knew exactly  where she was.

“Look like a your woman,” I said to him, he looked like he knew exactly what I ment.

“Garrick!” She waved frantically for me to come to her. I made my way to where she was kneeling down into the sand, accompanied by two small children.

“What you doing?”

“Look, we found a star fish and they said I could keep it. They are going to help me get another one.”

The kids knew to leave us alone, they went to meet an older boy who waved at Stacy. He was always hanging close by whenever she was around.

“Make me ask yuh something, yah Noah?”

“What, she asked, still digging into the sand.”

“Everyday yah go bring home wah next animal?” She placed her hand over her eyes to shade from the sun while looking up at me.

“Garrick, go back to the hut and be grumpy if you want,” she said then returned to her digging.

“Whiskers hungry.”

“Is he? I wonder what he wants to eat.”

“Maybe wah roast fish with the little red sauce on the side,” I said and she looked up at me with a side smile.

“Ok, let me go clean myself up and make Whiskers something to eat.”

She brushed herself off and made our way back to the hut. “Did you feed the Turtles?”
