Stacy's POV

"Twins?" That's all I have been saying for the past two days. Staring at my phone, all the messages coming in, not being able to answer any. I was numb.

Why was this happening to me?

My hand was shaking as I held the phone and my fingers hovered over her number. I wanted to call her so badly and send her into the deepest part of her mumma but how can I blame her?

Jade's Chat

Jade: Yuh good? We downstairs.

Me: I'm fine, I don't want to see anyone right now.

Jade: Ok.

Ends Chat.

"Twins?"

I still couldn't blame her, the man was the problem, he has always been the problem. The devil was telling me to just find him and stab him right into his heart and finish him off for good and call it a day.

The water overflowed, I forgot that I was going to take a warm bath. I rushed to turn the pipe off, slipped and hit my hand on the tub. I screamed, just kept screaming because of every pain I was feeling and it was just from hitting my hand.

I was tired of being this hurt.

The cold wet floor seemed to bring me some comfort as I sobbed with my knees pulled up to my chest. What do I do now? I didn't want to lose my mind again, not this time, my children need me.

"We have to go, I have to take the kids and leave tonight." I took my little time to get up from the floor and found the first aid kit. The bandage was right on the top, I took it out to wrap my hand. I didn't have the time to worry if it was broken. Time was against me.

All the passports were in the new safe, those were the first I took up and placed on the couch. My hand was hindering me from moving faster as I threw some clothes in suitcases.

"I will just get some good amount of money from Jade and have my mother wire me some more when I reach my destination. I leaving this fucking place and everyone."

Chalkline's POV

I jumped the back wall, I didn't want anyone to know that I was here. Mel was who I needed to see then I would just leave. When my feet landed on the ground I thank God, my doctor wanted to see me.

The back door entrance was convenient right now, I slipped through and laughed at myself as I moved through the house that I bought like a criminal until I reached Mel's room.

She told me to come after one knock. "You didn't even ask who it was," I said and took a seat on her little couch.

"It has to be someone who wants to see me. What are you doing here?" Really?

"My name rubbed off the title?"

"You are the one that's acting like that but it's glad to see you here. Did you see Stacy on the way in and how have you been?"

I hissed my teeth and took my phone out. "A nuh that me come bout enuh. From me reach back I'm trying to call Sitra, she answered me once and was disrespectful, from that she refuses to answer me again."

"Well you did tell her to stay away from you and you didn't want her children."

Oh, they were best friends.

"Because I was upset but I am not going to abandon my kids like that. Call her and talk to her nuh please."

She removed her glasses and came to sit beside me. "Give her some time."
