Stacy's POV

"I still couldn't believe you made me stand in front of all those people and speak." I was still reeling from the adrenaline rush.

"You have never done that before?" He asked.

"Yes but with regular everyday people." Yeah, I knew the motherfuckers.

"I believe you had great input and as you can see, everyone loved your brilliant ideas." I was grinning hard.

"Thank you for such an amazing opportunity."

"You are most welcome. So what are you doing for the remainder of this afternoon?" He asked and I looked at the time. I should have been home already.

"I have to head home to prepare for when my kids get home from school."

"Superwoman and a mommy," he said, making me blush. I noticed he had a way with words, a real charmer.

"I guess so."

"Stacy I don't want to get too personal and you can tell me if I am overstepping any boundaries. Are you still married?"

Shit, I didn't know how to answer this question because technically I am but emotionally I'm not.

"No, we are going through a divorce."

"That's unfortunate for him," he replied. We locked eyes and I got a little uneasy.

"I have to go now but we can catch up later and thanks again for this lovely opportunity."

"It was a pleasure having you in that room and I hope I will get to see you again soon."

All I could do was smile at him before turning around then head out to the awaiting car. I waved to him once more before the car drove off.

Chalkline's POV

I closed my laptop to the sight of Kelly leaning over my desk. "Well, he has money."

"When has Stacy ever cared about money?" I asked.

"Now. You notice how she is more about business and making a name for herself? She is not the same woman you married years ago Garrick, she tastes what having an abundance of money feels and she wants to keep that."

"So you think she is going to be with this man for money?"

She moved from the other side of the desk to come sit beside me like she was providing some comfort before she replied.

"It shouldn't matter to you why she wants to be with him, if she even wants to be with him. You told her to move on."

Why does everyone keep telling me this? "So, that mean seh she must guh fuck?"

"Yeah," she replied. I hissed my teeth and pushed her away from me so I could get away from her.

"Better me come guh a my yard enuh because a fuckery yah chat. Alrick tells you to move on and you know you love him, yah guh move on?"

"If he went out of his way to hide things from me, dig up children that could be left alone for later—"

"Watch how yuh mention my kids."

"I'm sorry Garrick, but how you handled Sitra and everything was very cruel and as a friend I will always tell you the truth. That girl literally had to buy her children back from you."

"That will teach her not to play with me."

"If I was Stacy and I knew some of the things you did I would leave you too."
