Stacy's POV
I put some music on and danced around the room until I was tired. Then I sat on the floor and cried my eyes out while awaiting my fate.
"I'm not going to break down. This is what they want and I won't let them win." Saying this while breaking down was me being delusional.
I cried some more, hoping to feel better, hoping the lump in my chest that was keeping me from breathing properly, would just burst and this would all go away.
"Fuck this!" I screamed and got off the floor to find my passport. "What if I run?" I mumbled.
Even though it was a wonderful thought and it brought some sort of comfort, leaving the kids made me worried but just thinking about the freedom and peace I would have.
The packed suitcase was still on the floor. My plan is to just leave and not tell anyone. I took up the suitcase and pulled it to the bedroom. There was a hard knock and the door, it made my heart beat faster. I placed my passport on the bed and pushed the suitcase to the side then went to open the door.
"Mel?"
"Can I come in?"
Jesus, why now? If this woman wasn't a witch I don't know anything else. "Sure," I stepped to the side she scurried past me.
"Is everything ok?" she asked. She loved asking questions she knew answers to.
"It should be. Why?"
"Just checking on you since you haven't responded to the email that was sent. You have a meeting tomorrow at 11: am at The Pacific conference center.
"For?"
She tilted her head and smiled. "You seem to forget the atmosphere my dear?"
"Are you sending me to prison or something?"
"Or something," she replied.
"Look Mel, I don't have time for this. If charges aren't going to be press then I will not be attending any meetings. I have a flight to catch."
"A flight?"
"Yes, I am leaving, taking a vacation, something."
She took a deep breath and sat on my bed. "It's unfortunate that you will not be able to just get up and leave like that. You did a horrible thing and you have to attend the meeting to know our next step."
"Like I said, if it's not jail then I don't care. Send an email, I promise I will check it."
"Do you even know the extent of the damages you had created?" she asked. I really didn't want to hear about this right now.
"No, but I am sure you are going to tell me."
"I am going to tell you. For the 45 minutes we were locked out of everything we lost millions. We are facing lawsuits and a lot of trust has been broken. A lot of responsibilities were bestowed upon you and you broke that trust when tampered with our security system."
"Didn't I tell you not to give it to me?"
"Accountability Stacy—"
"Mel, please!" I shouted.
"Calm down."
"Don't tell me to calm down. Your son got his mistress pregnant and she wants to throw it into my face like I did something to her. Go talk to him about accountability, he is the reason I did everything."
"I know you are hurting and I am very sorry."
"You don't know anything."
"Stacy—"
