Stacy’s POV

“Mrs. Walker, you are set to go home,” the doctor said but something made me feel guilty that I was able to leave but he wasn’t.

“Are you ready, mom?” LJ asked.

“Yes,” I replied, reluctantly.

The door opens and Mel comes in. She was dressed down, a sign that she was mad.

“LJ, please excuse your mother and I for a moment.” LJ quickly respected her request.

She couldn’t wait for the door to be closed to start. “What happened? Why is my son in the ICU?”

“He took my phone and I went to get it, he was drinking— he looked horrible. After going back and forth I decided to leave—”

“Were you two fighting?”

“No, we had an argument but it wasn’t physical.”

“Why did you go to his place?” She asked. Her voice cracked.

“I needed my phone.”

“No, you went there to start a fight. You could have just avoided him and sent Leo or Garcia to get your phone. Why do you need to go in his way?”

Why the fuck is she angry at me?

“What? He had my phone and he was the one who left Jamaica just to come here and terrorise me.”

“I bet you just love that.” No way she was talking to me like this.

“Love what? Being harassed and stalked when I just needed to be on vacation with the kids?”

“If he is such a bad person. Why are you holding onto him? Is it the money, the power he has or sex?”

“Beg you fucking pardon? That man is my husband —”

“Spare me the bullshit and don't piss me off. When was the last time you performed any wifely duty to him?”

A wah the bloodclaat this pon Karen one daughter?

“Why are you angry at me? I did not feed him drugs to mash up his heart. You fucking did, his own mother wrecked him.”

“Listen to me you fucking bitch. I will sink you so low you will never be able to touch above ground again. You better pray he wakes up.”

I must be dreaming. This could never be fucking real. “Yuh feel you can scare me old bloodclaat scarecrow? You better pray him nuh dead and while you are at it remember who incharge.”

“All of that can be fixed. You don’t know who you are playing with. You got your kids, his business and his house. Leave him the fuck alone if you don’t want him.”

“Yuh fuckin deaf woman? I did leave him alone, he came to me, he will always come to me. So let me tell you this and I hope you get it clearly, if it's not then it will never be anyone else. Per his DNR.”

Her old tough face got even more rigid.

“You feel good that you make this man so miserable he wanted to just die?”

“He made himself miserable. Maybe if you stay out of our lives he would be just fine.”

“I need you to stay out of his life.”

“Well you have to go kill mi, my love cause yuh son not leaving alone.”

“Look at you. I can't wait for my son to wake up and be over you, know his worth and see that other women are willing to love him the  way he deserves.”
