The rising temperature brought the breath of summer. Its warm breeze scattered into the air, whispering soft murmurs to the students heading for school. Yet one particular class only felt cold.
A deafening silence wrapped around the room. They were still in the moment of denial, refusing to come into terms of what happened the other day.
“Fuuuck… it's soooo over.”
“At this rate… I felt like I won't survive till summer.”
In the middle of the room, three boys gathered around a seat. Two were standing and the other sat.
“That guy's the worst!” Ike said, his voice low but enough for everyone to hear.
“We’re barely scraping… no way we're gonna get anything this time.”
Yamauchi shook his head, glancing sideways, a pair of pink-haired girls stood near the door.
He clicked his tongue. “Just like that! All efforts gone!”
In his words, a blonde-haired girl stood. Matsushita, Shinohara and Satou were confused by Karuizawa’s action, but too late to stop their friend as she had just arrived before them.
“Karuizawa-san…”
“Would you give it a break!” her voice cut through the silence.
All eyes over them. Their expressions rather calm, an argument first thing in the morning wasn't new in this class.
“The hell's your problem?!”
Both Ike and Yamauchi glared at her.
“I’m saying stop making things messier than they are.”
Karuizawa narrowed her eyes, hands clenching into a fist, no longer caring about her image.
“Huh?” they both said in unison as their faces twisted into confusion.
Then soft murmurs rippled across the room. Several nodded, some shook their heads, and others cast a rather familiar look.
“Woah! Seriously?! Haha.”
Especially the black-haired girl, Horikita. Her cold gaze was enough for them to read her thoughts.
‘Trash’
“We’ve done nothing, just complaining,” Yamauchi said, spreading his arms. “And now everyone's acting as if we're the one who started this whole mess.”
Scratching the back of his head, Ike clicked his tongue.
“Tsk, bunch of idiots”
Karuizawa put an arm on her waist, muttering, “As if you're any better.”
“What did you say, bitch?!”
As Ike stepped forward, a figure slipped through between them. Arms outstretched, followed by a warm familiar voice.
“Let’s all calm down, okay?” Hirata said.
