Friday. Come on Lola, one more day.
My body feels heavier than usual this morning when I try to get my ass out of bed. Friday means that I have two whole days of freedom to look forward to before another week and it looks like I'm going to Sally's tonight.
Speaking of the devil, Sally calls seconds later."Morning Sally." I say in the middle of a yawn.
"Oh lord Lola! You're alive, thank god!" She says loudly.
"And why wouldn't I be?" I ask with a voice filled with tiredness.
"You didn't answer my text last night! I thought you had been kidnapped or killed or something!" Drama queen as always. Where does she get those things and where does she get her energy because I really could use some.
"Sorry Sal. I didn't see it until rather late and I didn't want to wake you." I say while trying to dress myself.
"Anyway. I called to make sure you're coming tonight. And that you aren't dead of course." She says happily. This call makes me wonder if she is a huge time pessimist or optimist because she has to be one of them. I mean for someone to call someone else in the morning she has to be finished with everything or she hasn't even started.
"Uhm. It's not a party is it? I mean I'm not gonna have to dress up and be social or anything?" I know she's said that she doesn't party that much, but I think we have different definitions of that much.
"Oh come on! If I would throw a party I would need at least one week of preparation, not one night. Just bring your PJs and your lovely smile and we're good to go."
"Okay great Sally. I'll see you at school very soon. Bye!" I say the last sentence quickly and then hang up so she doesn't have time to start talking about another topic because then I'm gonna be very late. Again.
I pack my old ugly pajamas. It's only Sally that's going to see it so that's okay. It's made up of white shorts with blue and pink flowers on them and with a matching t-shirt. It's not sexy at all, but it's very comfortable. I also pack a toothbrush, a hairbrush, facial cleansers, clean underwear and a book.
When I get to school I'm earlier than expected. There were no traffic and the parking went very well. I get to my locker and to my surprise (not at all) Paul is standing there. He has a huge grin on his face and I can't understand what Oona sees in him.
"Morning lollipop." He says and I feel the breakfast coming back up. He did not just call me lollipop.
"Hey Paul." I say not even looking at him.
"You excited for tonight?" He says and my heart stops. My head snaps towards him and my eyes find his.
"What's happening tonight?" I say worried that he's invited too.
"Chill Lola. I just mean that it's Friday night. You do have something planned huh? Because otherwise..." I don't let him end that sentence.
"Yeah I do have plans." I say and look down again. My phone vibrates and the screen lights up showing a text from the same number as last night.
Bathroom.
I understand the meaning of that word and I'm happy to get away from Paul."Sorry Paul. It was nice talking but I have to go...... Powder my nose." I say and walk rapidly towards the bathrooms. I get to the bathroom door and see Harry standing outside it with his friends. When he sees me he excuses himself and walks into the bathroom. I see he has not told anyone about me. Well he said he didn't want anything official......
I walk into the bathroom and I am immediately pulled into the first booth."Hey lollipop." He says cupping my face. My face goes bright red and I realize that he must have seen me with Paul.
"You heard that?" I ask and look into his chest. He puts his hand under my head and gently pushes it up so our eyes meet.
"I did. And I nearly threw up." He says with a laugh before he presses his face against mine and closes the space between our lips. It wasn't that long ago I was with him, but feeling his lips against mine feels like eating a beloved old candy that you had when you were a child. The kiss deepens quickly and goes from slow and sweet to strong and passionate. The feeling of joy and safety is however present through it all. I love the way he makes me feel like an equal as we kiss. I can feel that he wants me as much as I want him. I never feel that when we speak. Before the kiss becomes something more I push him away, but keep my hands against his chest.
"I think that's enough for one morning." I say. He smiles.
"That can be discussed." He pauses and then continues. "You go ahead out first." He turns me around and gives my bum a small push.
"See you at French." He says and I walk out of the bathroom feeling happy and warm but also slightly disappointed. Why does he care so much about not making it official? He's the one that comes to me for more, not the other way around.French class begins and because of my meeting with Harry I wasn't first into the classroom and I lost my normal seat again. To that same annoying girl as last time. Who even is she? Who ever she is it's clear that she likes Harry. Like he's read my mind he answers me. My phone vibrates in my pocket and I sneakily get it up and hide it behind my French book. Monsieur Messina doesn't notice.
I don't know who this bitch is I swear!
When I read the text I have to bite my lip to keep me from laughing.
Don't call her bitch! That's very rude since you don't know her.
Tim enters the classroom and sneaks in and takes the seat next to me. I mentally curse because he's gonna want to know why my phone is up, who I'm texting, why am I texting him? I should change Harry's name to mom in my phone. Tim says hi and I give him a smile and my phone vibrates again.
Sorry mom... I don't respond. Instead I put my phone away and try to pay attention to the class. The three classes I have before lunch goes by smoothly and now it's time for my lunch date with Sally.
