I made a mistake.

                     —————Akito's pov—————

It was the late evening. The sun was setting and the amber light seeped through my closed curtains. Y/n would always open them when she came to do laundry or drop off meals.

I was conflicted.. because every time I think about that day.. our fight.. I'm angry.

I'm angry at myself.

The way she barely even looked at me earlier in Hatori's office. I'm grieving someone I pushed away.

I ran my fingers through my hair, groaning to myself at this realization. She left because of me. And I let her leave.

Slowly, I stood from the ground, walking over to the closed curtains as I began to open them. The light filled the room. The empty room. My brows furrowed and I closed them back, walking away from the window and to my bed.

Her loud presence was often annoying but entertaining at times. The way she spoke with indifferent or the way she was bold enough to lecture me unlike any other maid. I sure do miss her.

The woman paused, her head resting in her arms over her knees. "I.. miss her?" Akito spoke out loud as if questioning herself. Her tone was laced with something she couldn't name.

Before the Head Sohma could get further into her thoughts, her door slid open. She tensed up, turning her head expecting to see you.. but the only thing she saw was that grey haired devil she was beginning to dislike all together.

"Akito, I see you're doing well." Shigure started, smiling as he shut the door. Akito scowled at his presence, turning her head away as her hope died down.

"Ouch. Were you expecting someone else?" The man chuckled, his head tilting. He took a seat on a mat by Akito's table. She rolled her eyes, barely sparing him a glance, instead remaining on her bed and hugging her knees. "What do you want, Shigure?"

The zodiac god asked bluntly, her patience already thin.

Shigure watched the woman as if observing and breaking her down just with his eyes. She seemed different today. She seemed.... guilty.

He playfully gasped at his conclusion, covering his mouth a bit. "Akito Sohma is able to feel remorse? That's new." The man leaned back, plopping himself up with his arms.

"You didn't see the way she looked at me today. Hell, if you could even call that a glance." She said firmly, glaring to her feet. Shigure mockingly pouted. "Why should you even care? Your plan from the start was to play with her, right? That's why you allowed her to move in with me in the first place." He put out.

Akito hated that he was right. You were only a mere anomaly whom she allowed herself to get too entangled with. And now that you were coming to terms with how bad of a person she really was.. she wanted a do-over.

To show you she could try and be better.

"—to mention she's a wild card. I mean, slapping you? Y/n sure is something." Shigure had fallen into some rant about you and Akito had just snapped back to reality.

She stared over to the man, her eyes squinting with annoyance as he said something about getting rid you all together.

Akito stood from her bed, her fists bawled. "Go. Leave, now." She ordered. Shigure slowly stood up, towering over her with a surprised but amused expression. "You're asking me to leave? Seems she has your head acting a little funny." He added with a chuckle.

She couldn't stand to listen to him say another thing about you. She couldn't stand having to be apart from you this long.

She couldn't stand herself.

Without any warning, Akito picked up a vase in her room, throwing it towards Shigure. He managed to dodge it, his eyes widening as a small smirk appeared on his face.

"Akito.. don't tell me you're falling for that.. outsider." Shigure guessed all too well.

The woman huffed in response, reaching to grab one of her plates before Shigure pulled her wrist. He pulled her in, whispering into her ear,

"Do you really think things will go back to how they were?.. You think she'll come running like a desperate puppy?" Shigure shook his head, snorting as he leaned closer. "After you had sex and THEN disregarded her personal feelings?" He cooed.

"That girl doesn't want anything to do with you. Just let it go, Akito.." He said, his voice devoid of emotion at his statement.

Akito stilled at his words, her gaze falling to the ground.
