'It isn't true. He's just trying to get into your head.' I blinked, my fist bawling as I was snapped out of my thoughts by Shigure's laugh. Letting go of my wrist, he finally stepped back.
"I'll be going then. Bye, Akito."
His voice held a sadistic undertone and just like that he was out the door. He was taunting me. But the worst of all is.. what if he's right? What if this is it and Y/n just leaves me?? I grabbed my head, my fingers tangling in my dark locks as I groaned.
It was like my mind went blank. I dropped to the floor, picking up a broken glass from the shattered vase as gripped it like my life depended on it. My hand began to bleed from how tight I held it, but I couldn't care.
My brows furrowed as I glanced to the door, charging to it. I was out of the hall in an instant.
——————————Hatori's Pov——————————
"Oh, how is Akito today, Hatori? I worry for that poor girl.." The madam muttered quietly incase of prying ears. "Can't say for sure. But she'll be alright, don't worry. I'm heading to her room right now for a check up." I assured the head maid, giving her a parting smile before I began my journey to Akito's room.
I saw Shigure, the man waving like a child once he took notice of me. I exhaled, not responding. My gaze had shifted behind him. It was.. Akito? She was running towards Shigure and he had no clue until her footsteps came into earshot.
My eyes widened as I glanced to her hand. She held a piece of glass, so tightly that it caused her a wound. "Akito!!" I shouted, making my way to her but she ignored me, her vision locked on Shigure.
She was going to stab him.
I charged, grabbing her arm and then her wrist, prying the glass out of it. She growled, kicking and struggling, yet her gaze never left Shigure.
He watched, both baffled and amused. He huffed out a breathless laugh, his hands going on his knees as he hunched over. It was like he was holding back laughing more than he was now. "Holy crap! All this? And for her?" Shigure sucked his teeth.
For her? Does he mean... Y/n?
Akito's glare hardened, her hands trying to pry me off. "Be quiet!! Get out! Get the fuck out of here!!" She yelled, her voice cracking in a way I've never heard before.
What the hell was going on? "Shigure, not now! Just go home." I demanded, shooting him a firm stare as he put his hands up in a defensive manner. "Okay, jeez. I'm going." The grey haired man responded with a sigh.
He gave Akito a final glance, slightly smirking. "Make sure you get that hand cleaned." Shigure chuckled, his eyes flicking down to her injured hand.
Her teeth gritted while he began to walk away, shaking his head as he did.
The trip to my office was a quiet one. Akito didn't seem to be putting up much of a struggle since Shigure was out of eye sight. He was always been an exuberant man with a god awful sense of humor, but whatever happened today seemed to have crossed lines. Even for him.
"That bastard.." I heard Akito say, the anger still evident in her voice. I turned to the woman sitting on the patient bed.
Currently, I was gathering the supplies to bandage her hand up, but the way her fist was bawled made the injury bleed more. Stepping forward, I gently grabbed her wrist and opened her hand without causing her more pain. "What happened, Akito? What did Shigure say?" I questioned, my eyes shifting between the wound and her expressions.
Akito's eyes were pointed elsewhere through her hardened face. "The stupid crap he always says! He always spouts nonsense with no regard for how it'll affect me!" She responded, her tone harsh but expected.
"What did he say, Akito?" I repeated, causing her to look away. She didn't answer me, so it was definitely bad.
I had to know. Was this whole thing because of Y/n? Did she really try and stab Shigure for her?
"I have to get her back." She said suddenly, her voice holding a sense of vulnerability. One that I've never even heard her do even when Yuki decided to move in with Shigure. This was different. This was much different.
I exhaled, giving her hand a soft pat when I finished wrapping the bandage. "You need to get better first." I replied. She glared, finally looking up at me. "The longer I wait, the more distance it will put between us! I can't let her hate me more than she does.. I can't let her leave." She expressed, her voice cracking. She even seemed surprise to hear her voice break when speaking of her.
It was the first thing we both noticed. She was smitten by Y/n.
