Zatanna still isn't taking her dad's death well, but not as bad as at first. The girls are glad about that. They still pity her. "It must be hard being an orphan, especially for a daddy's lil girl like her," says Cara. They leave it at that. She's still struggling to get through it.

Cara and Janny (Galataia) always hang out now. Sometimes just the two of them. Sometimes them plus Brainiac Fiversome. They enjoy hanging out together. They've become best friends. They hang out instead of trying to kill each other. That's a good thing.

Wonder Woman has started dating Batman. Her mom doesn't like it but she doesn't care. Arisha has finally been dug out of the ocean, thawed, and reformed. She now has apologized yet is still banished, exiled from the Mascara. Diana feels sorry for her. "She may not truly be one of us," she says, "but we owe her it. We saved her after all." Diana tries to reason with her mother but her mom won't budge. "If I remember correctly," she tells Diana, "I exiled you when you brought men to the Mascara. No go. Sorry daughter." "I'm not your daughter. I know the truth. I've always known the truth. I'm nothing but molded clay. Aren't I?" Diana demands to know the truth. "Yes you are," her mom says, she can't deny it. "You're still my little moon and stars, my princess, my baby despite all that," she explains. Diana's wrath is too great. She flies away enraged, infuriated. She has a college coarse to teach anyway. It's not her place. She doesn't have the time of day anymore not between work, saving the world, and dating Batman. Something her mom would not agree with or encourage.

With both her mother, Inza, and father dead, Zatanna is lost. She doesn't know what to do anymore. Life hasn't been nice or fair to her. She doesn't understand why but she's curious to find out. She goes back to her father's notes and books to seek the answer. It's the only way.
