End of the road

C:16 Jade's POV

They were everywhere.  The things surrounded the car,  trying to climb into our boot thing.  And I thought it was over.

Kate was the first one to fire,  then Ben,  then Luke.  But I couldn't,  I was frozen.  Kate stepped in font of me,  obscuring my view.  She pushed me backwards and I hit my head on the window,  everything when black. 

I woke up,  Kate asleep on my shoulder.  I looked around,  it was night,  we were moving again.  I could hear Luke and Josh talking in the front,  and Ben laughing with them.  As my eyes adjusted properly,  I could make out kinda where we were,  pulling into a hotel parking lot.  Everything seemed quite,  too many quite.

"Amelia is gone" I jumped out of my skin,  who the hell had said that,  "and it's all my fault"  the voice carried on.  Wait I recognised that voice,  kinda.  I looked down to see Kate looking up at me.  Omg she talked. 

She closed her eyes again,  resting her head back on my shoulder. 

"boys to one room,  girls in another" Josh shouted as joined up again.  We had just cleared the whole hotel,  everyone was existed.  We just needed to sleep.  Kate picked up our bags,  and headed off to the nearest room.  Slowly,  she pushed open the door.  Josh had cleared this floor,  looked like she didn't trust his skills,  and she was right. 

Sat on the bed,  gun aimed at us was a very mucky looking,  blood covered boy.  He was short and had blond hair.  As he looked at Kate,  his expression turned to shock.  I turned to look at her,  she dropped her gun and ran towards him,  he dropped his weapon and hugged her like his life depended on it. 

"Kate?  Oh thank god your OK! " the boy said as Kate got up,  dusting herself off.  The boy turned to me,  hand outstretched

" I'm Michael,  Kate's best friend" he said,  as we shook hands "and you are?"

"Jade, "I said,  putting my hand back in my pocket" Kate's other best friend"

His face dropped,  I didn't trust this guy. 

And I wasn't going to wait around to see what he did.
