End of the road

C:39 luke's POV

"I will take watch tonight." i told everyone, picking up my gun and torch. Lily nodded, ushering Abigail and Finn to bed. Austin showed Dan where he was gonna be sleeping. It was just me , Jade and Kate left around the fire. " You should go to bed" i told them. " not tired," they both said in unison. i sighed. " anyway, " Jade said " we need to talk about abigail" Kate rolled her eyes " what about her?" i asked, curious. " well, she isnt in a good way, she thinks Kate hates her. she is scared " jade told us, looking at kate. " she killed my best friend. " kate muttered, " talk to her" jade said, kate shook her head "please.... for me?" she asked. Kate rolled her eyes, got up and walked over to Finn and Abigails tent.  I turned to jade " how come you can do that?" she looked puzzled, "what do you mean?" " she does whatever you ask, why?" " its a long story " she said, looking at the ground. "ive got time" i said, 

"Kate joined my team when she started school. i kinda knew her already as she spent alot of time with beth, but she never really talked to me. Her first time at team meeting she didnt say a word, or the next time, or even the time after that. She did everything we asked but was completely silent. As time went on, she started to come in with more and more bruises, still not saying a word. I asked Beth, and apparently no one had ever heard her talk, since she joined the school. So about a three month of her being in the team, i decided to talk to her. i took her aside one meet and asked her where the bruises came from, why she didnt talk. she burst into tears and explained that some people in her school were beating her up everyday and she didnt know what to do. she didnt talk because she was scared. i hugged her and told her that she should start spending lunch and break with me and some others in the team. That no one in this team would hurt her. So she started spending time with me and some of my friends. she started to smile and be happy, and they thought she was fab. but then the people found her, they walked up to us, and i stood infront of her, as did the rest of our friends. i told them that if they hurt her in anyway they would have us to deal with . so they left her alone. since then she has stuck by us, spent everyday with us, we have been skating and even been on holiday together. but me and her stick together. because she is the toughest person i know, even if she doesnt know that. "Jade sighed at that last part. " shes like my little sister " she added, looking up at me. and right then i knew exsactly how she felt. she would do anything to protect kate, like i would with be....
