End of the road

C:17 Kate's POV

The next few days were really tense.  Michael and Jade didn't exactly hit it off.  But he definitely got on with Ben.  Turns out they knew each other before all this.  At least they were happy.

Josh and Luke spent most of the day looking at maps,  trying to work out where we were,  and the nights patrolling the hotel.

Jade...  Well I didn't really know.  She wouldn't look me or come anywhere near me.  And I didn't know why.  She seemed worried about something. 

"grubs up munchkin" Luke shouted,  handing me a plate of what looked like rice.  I pushed it back towards him. 

"come on Kate,  you gotta eat" he said,  kneeling down next to me.  I shook my head so violently I started to go dizzy.  I felt sick.  I stood up and ran out of the room.  I barely made it out before I collapsed to the floor,  I couldn't walk.  My legs felt numb.  I just needed to get to my meds.. oh shit they ran out a month ago.  Everything went black.

I woke up to see that I was back in mine and Jade's room. I sat up but my head started spinning again. 

"lie down" Jade said icely,  walking into the room carrying a tray. 

I rolled my eyes at her,  placing my head back on the pillow.

"eat" she said,  putting the plate down in front of me.  I shook my head. 

"you need to eat,  you've gotta be strong" she said,  I shook my head again.

"for God's sake stop acting like a child and eat your freaking food! " she screamed,  hitting the wall next to her.  I shook my head,  more hesitantly this time though. 

" Kate,  I will not loose you as well! " she shouted,  bursting into tears.  She sank onto the floor sobbing.

" Jade? " I asked, quietly,  leaning over the edge of the bed. She looked up at me. 

" I'm not going anywhere" I said.  She smiled at me.  Slowly I picked up some rice and ate it.  Yuck,  Luke was an awful cook. I pulled a horrible face.  She laughed,  wiping her tears away.

Then we heard the bang.

And the happy moment was over.
