"Look Kiddo.. " I started to say to my sister, kneeling down next to her. she looked up at me. " i dont hate you, i love you to bits, your my little sister. im trying to figure out how we move on from this, so just give me a little time. " i pulled her into a hug. Happy now Jade? i thought, pulling away from abigail. "Kate?" A voice said , i turned around to Lily stood outside of the tent. I ruffled abigails hair and went outside to meet her. " whats up lil?"i ask, seeing the worried expression on her face. " I was doing some checks around the camp. "she began "we are surrounded" My heart sank. "How many? " I asked her , although i could already tell it wasnt good. "About two dozen at least. " she told me. Crap, i thought, we werent ready for this.
"Jade!Luke!" i heard a voice scream from the tent next to us. Luke and Jade appeared next to me in seconds. "help !" we heard Fin scream. Luke opened the tent to see Austin on the floor in a pool of blood, and one devouring him. Fin was backed into a corner of the tent, his gun pointed at it, but his hands shaking. Luke froze in fear, Jade backed slowly away. Lily started to cry. "For gods sake people!" dan hissed, running into the tent and killing it with one swing of his sword. Over the edge of the tent, i could see them emerging from the forest. "Jade, look" i whispered, pointing to the herd approaching us. she turned to the group. "We are leaving. Now" she said. Everyone sprang into motion, Dan scooped up Fin, running over to the truck with him, abigail followed. He lifted them both into the back seats of the cab and told the to stay. he ran back over to us and started gathering up food. Luke, jade and lily started pulling blankets out from the tents and chucking them into the back of the truck. i stood, gun aimed at the apporaching threat, firing when they got to close. "Ready?" Luke asked, jumping into the drivers seat, lily into the passanger side, dan into the back of the cab with the kids. Jade jumped into the open back bit. "go luke"i screamed, running towards the truck. Jade held her hand out as the truck started to roll away. iput my hand out to grab hers, just like i had with Jos..... i tripped.
and watched the truck speed away into the distance.
