End of the road

C:37 Luke's POV

"This is Dan" i told  jade, who looked very shocked. Dan stuck his hand out to Jade, but seemed to ignore Kate. "we found him on the run.  he doesnt have a group, i couldnt just leave him. " Jade nodded, snapping out of her trance "of course not, " she said, "have you done introductions yet?" i shook my head "there hasnt been time. " she stepped towards Dan, shaking his hand. "Hi , I'm Jade, im the leader of this group. I'm 17. Obviously you've met luke, him and kate" she pointed to me and kate "are our second in commands. Luke is 18 and Kate is 16" she turned to Lily and Austin. "Lily and austin are both 19 " she then pointed to Fin and Abigail " thats fin, he's 8 and thats abigail, she is 9." Dan gave the kids a little wave which made them smile. "can i have a word?" Jade asked him, he nodded and they walked back to the truck. 

"Grubs up Kiddies!" I shouted, about an hour later, handing Dan a plate of beans and rice.  "i must warn you, his cooking leaves much to be desired" Kate told him. i slapped her over the back of the head laughing. " make your own then munch. " i told her, going to sit down next to Fin and abigail. The whole group was sat around the fire as the sun was setting, it was kinda nice. Dan had seemed to settle in rather well. " so whats your story, if you dont mind me asking " Austin asked him through a mouthful of rice.  Dan placed his plate down and took a deep breath "Well, when this all started, i was a friend, we managed to survive a couple months. He was a great shot and im pretty good with my sword. but he got reckless. we argued and went our seprate ways. i found him as one of them about a week later. ive just been by myself since"he told up, looking at the ground. Kate put her arm around him. " well, " she said "your stuck with us now, sorry " he laughed, smiling at her.   " i ship it!" Abigail and Fin shouted in unison, laughing. Kate shot her sister a look of death and abigail got up and ran off towards the truck. I started to get up to go after her, but Jade beat me to it " ive got it " she told me, running after her.
