End of the road

C:30 Jade's POV

I'd always been protective over Kate.  It was kinda my thing.  When she had first joined my team she was shy and quite,  but we soon made friends.  When she got bullied at school,  I was the one who stuck up for her. When she ran off one night I was the one who was looking for her.  She was team,  she was family. And when beth took abigail,  I was the one who supported her,  made her eat,  kept her alive.

So I sure as hell wasn't gonna loose her now!

"open the god damn door" josh yelled,  pounding on the door to the basement under our house. Luke pulled him back, giving me room to kick the door off its hinges.  We ran in,  guns aimed.  And sure enough,  sat there handcuffed to a chair was Kate.  Her nose was bleeding and she had a massive cut across her forehead,  but she was alive. 

"oh thank god. " I sighed in relief.  Josh walked over to Kate  trying to loosen her handcuffs.

Then it all went in slow motion.

abgail appeared from behind the door.

Pointed her gun at Josh

And fired.

No hesitation.

No pause,

No guilt.

" no! " I screamed,  running to josh as he fell to the ground.  Blood started pouring from his stomach

" no no no Josh no. " I heard Kate cry. I could see her trying to pull out of her restraints. 

" come on Josh stay with me " I muttered to him.  I could feel Abigail's gun pointed at my head.  I saw Luke step in front of me.

"  go on then! " he shouted"  do it! " I looked up to see Abigail look shocked.

" shoot me,  go ahead.  Do it!  You already killed my brother! Do it!  Shoot me,  shoot Jade,  shoot your sister!  Shoot the people who took you in when you found us,  claiming to be homeless,  after your friend killed one of our own! After we lost Amelia,  after we lost Ethen and Liv.  Do you want to do that!  Go ahead.  Shoot! " he screamed at her.

abigail dropped her gun and sank to the floor.  Tears running down her face.  Luke to the opertunity  to grab to gun. 

And I turned back to my friend,  lying on the floor.
