End of the road

C:38 Jade's POV

"Abby?" I asked hesitantly as i approached the truck, regretting leaving my gun behind. I heard a small sniff come from the open top back thingy. I climbed in to see Abigail staring at a picture, tears streaming down her face. "can i see?" i asked ,holding my hand out for the picture. she handed it to me, sniffing. It was a picture of her and Kate before all this. Kate had her arm around abigail, who was holding up a certificate for a ballet exam. they were both smiling their heads off. I turned it over. On the back it said "Well done kiddo. Im so proud of my little sister. I will always love you, from Kate xxx" i turned to abigail. "and she still does" she shook her head " she hates me, I killed Josh. " i put my arm around her " she just hurting, he was like her brother" i told her. she shook her head again , looking up at me "No, he was her brother. They were twins. Mummy told me the day before all this, she was meant to tell kate when she got home from skating. " i looked at her, completely shocked "Josh was adopted, but mum kept kate. Kate still doesnt know, that i killed her twin, my big brother!" she burst into tears, sobbing into my shoulder. i couldnt believe it. i just hugged abigail tighter. " i should have died not Nana" she whispered. i pulled her away from me by her shoulders and looked her in the eye, "Dont you ever say that!" i told her, "but thats my fault too!" she collapsed into tears again. I remembered all to vividly what had happened to her nan. 

We were in next when we found abigail the first time. Kate had sceamed and me and Josh had ran to go find her. I ran down one isle to see kate facing one of those things. It was slowly walking toward abigail who was lay on the floor crying in fear. A lady pushed past me, pushing Kate behind her, holding her hand out to abigail. "come on abigail!" abby just shook with fear, unable to move. the thing was getting closer. it reached down towards abby, getting closer and closer to her neck, opening its mouth to bite her.... the lady launched herself at the thing, putting her fist though its skull as it sank its teeth into her shoulder. the thing dropped dead on the floor. "nan!" kate screamed, running fowards. her nan looked up at her " You keep her safe Kathrine, shes not like you. " Katie nodded, tears in her eyes. she hugged her nan tightly as her eyes closed and her breathing stopped. she sighed, turning to abigail who was now stood up watching the whole thing, tears streaming down her face. she took her by the shoulders "I'm sorry" abby sobbed "i was just scared" kate nodded " i know, but you cant be scared any more abby, you know why?" abby shook her head " because youve got me, so you dont need to be, i wont let anything happen to you, i promise. " 

But she was scared..... and kate wasnt here, i was. I needed to fix this.
