5. Can't get too attached

Kendall's POV

"Tell me again Kendall, what pack did you come from?"

"I.. Came from um.... Blood Moon pack"

"And why did you leave?" He asked looking at me with concern.

One thing I didn't tell you about myself is that I can feel people's emotions. It doesn't matter who or what they are, I can sense every emotion that is running through their head.

"There was 3 of them. Alpha, Beta and 3rd In Command. The Alpha and Beta's mates died a few years back and the 3rd In Command hasn't found his mate yet. I basically became their toy. They beat me all the time and I just had to leave, I was scared. Today was my wedding to Jake, The Beta, I escaped before I could say I do" I said shakily. I didn't want to tell him that they raped me.

I saw Declan shake in anger and I knew his wolf was about to come out.

"Declan?" I asked shakily.

He didn't answer me he just kept getting angrier.

"Declan" I said a bit louder.

"Declan!" I yelled when he didn't do anything. He snapped his head at me and looked at me with love, concern and anger.

"Please don't do anything Declan, I'm scared"

"I'm going out for a run, stay here" he said in his alpha tone.

He hopped up from the bed and walked outside as fast as he could.

I lied down on his bed and cried as hard as I could.

'Kendall please don't cry, Declan just needs to get Zeke out for a run. He's just angry that they did that to his mate. He isn't angry at us, he loves us' Gracie said trying to calm me down.

I switched off my connections to Gracie so I didn't have to hear her talking to me.

I cried myself to sleep but it was hard without my mate to hold me.

I woke up and it was dark and Declan wasn't here. Was he alright?

I started to freak out and I sat up, clutching the bed sheets.

Declan ran in straight away and his hair was messed up like he had been pulling at it continuously.

He ran over to me and grabbed my hands.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"I didn't know where you were. I.. I was worried about you"

He smiled and kissed my forehead leaving a tingling feeling.

"I'm okay, I was just in my office. Go back to sleep"

"Are you going to go to sleep? It's getting late"

"Yeah I will go stay in the spare room"

I nodded my head, I'm glad that I switched myself from Gracie so I couldn't hear her howling and complaining.

"Oh and Zeke told me to tell you that Gracie wants you to connect back to her"

I smiled slightly and put my head back down on the pillow.

"Goodnight Declan"

"Night princess"

I smiled and he walked out of the room shutting the door quietly behind him.

I woke up the next morning and smelt my mate nearby.

I hopped out of bed and put my hair into a messy ponytail.

I walked through the house but didn't know where I was going so I got lost.

'Help' I sent to Declan through our weak mind link. It wasn't strong because I wasn't apart of his pack and he hasn't claimed me yet.

I heard running through the house and then he wrapped his arms around my petite waist.

"What's wrong princess?"

"I.. I just got lost"

"Do you need anything? Clothes? Shower? Breakfast?"

"Can I please have some clothes and a shower, I don't usually have breakfast"

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day bub, I won't let my mate skip a meal"

I smiled at his kindness and nodded my head.

Kendall, stop! You can't get too attached.

He got some clothes from a bedroom and handed them to me.

"Not sure if they will fit, they are my little sisters"

He wrapped his arm around my waist and led me to what I guessed was the bathroom.

He opened the door and it was lovely. A lot nicer than Jake's.

I shivered in disgust at the thought of his name and thanked Declan for letting me use the shower.

"It's your shower as well bub, I would do anything for you to be happy"

Even if that meant me leaving? I thought.
