20. Space

Declan's POV

I walked down to the dungeons and the first thing that knocked into my senses was the smell of sex.

That's f*cking disgusting!

I walked up to Brett and grabbed him by the throat, lifting him off the ground.

"Alpha please let him go!" Aubrey begged me.

I stared at her and could see the pain in her eyes.

I dropped Brett down and he ran over to Aubrey and hugged her tightly.

"You will leave my pack and never return Brett! I don't care if your alpha and you need to come here, you will never set foot in this territory again!" I yelled at him angrily.

"Thank you Declan" he said bowing his head.

I left the dungeons and walked upstairs to see Kendall talking with Peyton in the kitchen.

I grabbed her hand and she jumped away in shock.

"Declan we need to talk" she said quietly while looking down at the ground.

She walked to the lounge room and I followed behind her closely.

She sat down on the couch and I sat next to her.

"I need you to listen to me and not get angry"

"What is it?" I asked her.

"I think we should take a break and you know use some time alone"

"What why?" I asked angrily.

"I just need some space and we could both use some time away from each other"

"We have hardly spent any time together since you bloody got here!" I yelled.

"See this is what I mean Declan, just stop and go calm down"

"How long are we 'taking a break' for" I said using finger marks when I said taking a break.

"As long as I feel we need a break for Declan"

"Kendall don't do this" I pleaded.

She shook her head and walked upstairs. What the f*ck just happened?

Kendall's POV

I do love Declan, I love him with all my heart, I just need some space. Because of everything that has happened lately it has all got to my head and it's hard for me to think straight.

I just need a few days to cool off and relax an just spend time away from Declan.

I walked into the bathroom and stripped out of my clothes and relaxed in the tub which was filled with bubbles.

It's nice to just forget about your worries and relax.

Brett's POV

"Aubrey I'm sorry that this has to happen but you need to leave with me. You can't stay here at this pack, you have to move with me and become Luna of Blood Moon Pack"

"I will go anywhere with you" she said smiling while grabbing my hand.

"I love you so much" I said truthfully.

I let her go for 5 minutes so she could say goodbye to her family and she would meet me at the border of the territory.

She arrived in her dark brown wolf and I nuzzled her lightly. She turned around to look back towards the pack and then faced me again and off we went.

Kendall's POV

I got into some pyjamas and hopped into bed, snuggling deep into the blankets.

Gracie wanted me to go and sleep with Declan but I knew better than that. I needed to have my space so Gracie could just suck it up.

'You know I can hear you right' she said angrily.

'Yeah whatever, we are going to sleep, so goodnight'

'We both know that you won't be able to sleep properly without our mate. Why do you need space? We don't need to be away from him, we want to be with him'

'Gracie if you can't respect me then you can leave'

'You will die if I leave'

'Gracie you can go talk to Zeke but I'm not talking to Declan at the moment'

'Fine' she huffed before leaving my mind to talk to Zeke.

Declan's POV

I still don't understand why Kendall wanted to have space from me. One minute we were fine and then the next she says she needs space.

Did I do something wrong?

It was so hard to sleep without her in my arms. It was even worse when I could hear her trying to fight the urge to come to me. She would eventually crack and come running back to me and I will be waiting for her.

Usually when you find your mate the first thing you do is claim them as yours and then mate. Kendall has been here for a few days now and I haven't even claimed her yet.

I listened quietly and could hear her light snores from a few rooms over where she was sleeping. I am glad that she was sleeping and she was safe but she would be more safe here with me.

What am I going to do without Kendall here?
