The guests had left with hollow hearts and teary eyes, their souls heavy from the weight of truth. The once vibrant party now felt like the ruins of a battlefield—echoing silence, broken pride, and memories that would haunt for years.

At Wei Wuxian’s Mansion

The ride back was suffocatingly silent.

Wei Wuxian didn’t say a word. His face was pale, eyes blank, jaw clenched. His heart bled in a way that no one could see.

The car stopped at the mansion. He stepped out slowly, like a man returning from war with nothing left.

His footsteps echoed through the hallway until—

"Baba!"

A voice shattered the silence.

He paused mid-step, already knowing who it was.

Yifi stood behind him, arms crossed, fury in her eyes. Lusi stood at a distance, lips tight, watching everything unfold.

"Is this true?!" Yifi snapped. "Did you cheat on mom?! Did you have an affair and hide a whole other family?! Some random guy just called you his father! Who is he?! What is this?!"

Wei Wuxian turned around slightly. His tired eyes met his daughter’s.

For the first time, he didn’t argue. Didn’t shout. Didn’t defend.

Just silence.

"Say something!" Yifi shouted. "I always saw you as my hero. My role model. How dare you break that image!"

But he simply looked at her—no anger, no explanation, just pain. And then he turned away again, walking toward the stairs.

That’s when Yifi exploded, voice shaking with betrayal.

"You can walk away all you want, but remember this: That boy, Wang Yibo—he’ll never be part of our family. I don’t care if he’s your son or not! He will get nothing from you. No name. No money. No inheritance. He’s a bastard!!You will never give him your name or a single drop of your inheritance! He's illegitimate! I am your only daughter, and I deserve it all of your property!!!!"

Those words hit Wei Wuxian like knives. He stopped again.
His hands clenched into trembling fists.

After a few moments, his voice came—deep, low, and terrifyingly calm.

"Lusi," he said without turning, "explain everything to her. Every question. Every truth. So she never dares to speak like this again."

Then he disappeared into his room, closing the door behind him.

Downstairs

Yifi turned to her mother, confused and scared.

"Why didn’t he say anything? He always lectures me. Always corrects me. Why did he avoid me this time? Who is Wang Yibo? Who is Mr. Wangji?!"

Lusi stared at her daughter, eyes glazed.

"Don’t ask another word."

"But mom—!"

"Go. To. Your. Room." Lusi shouted, voice echoing.

Yifi flinched, then stormed away, slamming the door behind her.

Lusi sat down at the dining table, rubbing her forehead. Her heart was racing.

"What should I do?"

The truth was unbearable.
Wei Wuxian wasn’t Yifi’s biological father.

What would she tell her daughter?
The truth—that Wei Wuxian wasn’t biologically Yifi’s father.
She had come into his life through a contract. They were never married.
But… could she ever tell her child that?
She let out a long sigh. Something needed to be done. Fast.
