Yibo slowly regains consciousness and looks around. It’s a small room, completely empty. He tries to move his hands and feet, only to realize they’re tied tightly with rope to a chair.
Yibo frowns in annoyance.
"Kidnapper!"
After getting no response, he yells louder,
"Kidnapper!
Hello? Anyone there? Can you hear me!?"
Just then, the door opens and three masked men walk in. Yibo pouts.
"Why did you tie my hands and feet so tight? Do you know there’ll be marks on my skin now?"
One of the kidnappers scoffs.
"You’re kidnapped, and you’re still talking without fear?"
Yibo shrugs.
"Why would I be scared? What are you gonna do? Kill me? Break my arms and legs? Or… do you have other dirty intentions?"
He smirks mischievously.
"Just saying in advance—if you’re planning anything like that, I’ll be the top."
The kidnapper’s face is priceless.
"Shameless brat."
Yibo pouts dramatically.
"I didn’t say anything bad. I’m just negotiating early!"
Right then, his stomach growls loudly. He blinks.
"…I’m hungry."
The second kidnapper says, "We can’t give you food."
Yibo gasps like they committed a sin.
"What? How am I supposed to survive without food!?"
"The boss said not to give you anything until she gets here," one of them replies before ignoring him and walking toward the door.
Yibo puffs his cheeks irritably.
"You guys are so cruel…"
The kidnappers leave, shutting the door behind them.
Wang Ji was in his lab when the driver rushed in, breathless. Several bodyguards tried to stop him at the door, but he pushed past — frantic and insistent that this was an emergency.
Seeing him, Wang Ji looked up in surprise. "Mr. Han? What’s wrong?"
The driver dropped to his knees, panicked. "Young master has been kidnapped."
Wang Ji froze. "What did you say?"
Mr. Han’s voice shook. "Yes — I saw it with my own eyes. A group of men grabbed him and drove off. I chased them, but I couldn’t catch up. I’ve been calling you non-stop, sir, but your phone was off."
Mrs. Kim, who had followed, stared at him in disbelief. "Are you sure? Why would anyone kidnap him? He has no enemies."
Wang Ji sprang up. He pulled out his phone and tried calling Yibo, but every attempt went straight to voicemail — the line switched off.
Panic spread across his face; his mind raced visibly. Mr. Han hurriedly told everything he’d seen — the cars, the masked men, the route they’d taken. After he finished, Wang Ji slammed a hand down on the table and sat heavily, overwhelmed.
Mrs. Kim moved closer and tried to steady him. "Sir, breathe. Don’t do anything rash. Take a moment."
Wang Ji shook his head and stood up, voice sharp now. "No — get everyone. Tell every bodyguard to find him. Hire trackers, run the GPS logs, get the surveillance footage. Find his location within thirty minutes."
Mrs. Kim nodded and ran off immediately.
Wang Ji remained, rigid and silent, tears starting to form at the corners of his eyes. He stared blankly ahead for a beat, then barked to the men in the room, "Go. Do whatever it takes. Bring my son back. Don’t let anything happen to him."
