Night Scene — Yibo’s Room
Yibo stirred in his sleep when he felt a gentle touch brushing over his hair. Slowly opening his eyes, he found his elder brother, Yuan, sitting beside him, softly running his fingers through his hair.
Yibo sat up a little, blinking sleepily. Yuan smiled faintly and asked in a caring tone, "How are you feeling now?"
Yibo puffed his cheeks and muttered, "I’m fine. I just fainted for a bit, and everyone’s acting like it’s a huge deal."
Yuan chuckled, pinching his little brother’s cheek. "Because you’re the precious one of the family — of course we worry about you."
Yibo giggled and hugged him tightly. "Little one, but deda loves you more."
Yuan laughed softly. " Baba loves both of us. And I’m not the little one — you are. Got it?"
Yibo turned his face away with a small pout, only to notice a bouquet of flowers, boxes of chocolates, and a big teddy bear placed neatly on the table. His eyes widened in delight. "Did you bring all that for me?"
Yuan shook his head with a small smile. "Nope. Sean ge-ge came by this afternoon to see you. He brought those for you while you were asleep."
At the mention of Sean’s name, Yibo’s expression changed immediately. His ears perked up, and his thoughts started racing. Why was that stubborn man here again? Did he talk to deda? Did he convince him about something?
Yuan nudged him lightly. "Hey, what are you thinking about?"
Yibo quickly shook his head. "Nothing."
Just then, a maid entered the room and said politely, "Mr. Wang is calling both of you for dinner."
Yuan nodded. "Alright, we’re coming." He got up to leave, while Yibo said, "You go ahead, I’ll freshen up and join you."
Once Yuan was gone, Yibo grabbed his phone immediately and dialed Sean’s number. It barely rang once before the call connected, and a deep, cool voice answered, "Hello."
Yibo’s heart skipped a beat at the sound of that low, husky tone. Trying to sound calm, he asked, "I heard you came to our house this afternoon. Why did you come? Did you talk to my deda? Did you convince him not to send me away?"
He spoke all at once, unable to hide the excitement in his voice.
On the other end, Sean’s deep voice replied simply, "Yes."
Yibo’s face lit up. "Thank you!"
Sean chuckled softly, the sound lazy and amused. "No need to thank me. Do you remember our deal?"
Yibo’s smile faltered. "Of course I remember. I’m a man of my word. I said I’d keep my promise. I just couldn’t kiss you today because I wasn’t feeling well. But I’ll make up for it tomorrow at your office."
Sean’s voice dropped lower, teasing and smug. "You don’t need to. I already collected today’s kiss."
Yibo froze, eyes going wide. "What? You what?! You kissed me?"
Sean replied calmly, "Yes."
Yibo almost shouted, "When? How?"
Sean’s smirk was audible even through the phone. "When you were asleep."
Yibo gasped. "You shameless jerk! You took advantage of me while I was sleeping!"
Sean replied, his voice low and lazy, "It was part of our deal — one kiss every day."
"Shameless! Pervert! You— you—!" Yibo yelled before hanging up in outrage.
He let out a long, flustered sigh, his cheeks, ears, and even the tip of his nose flushed red. Grabbing a handful of his own hair, he groaned in frustration. "Ugh! That cold man!"
