It started before the sun even rose.
Princess didn't sleep much the night before—not from fear this time, but from resolve. She'd had enough. No more warnings. No more being pushed, punched, or mocked. If they wanted to play with fear... then fine.
She'd give them a taste of something they'd never forget.
She arrived early. Two hours early. Just her and her plan. She'd spent the entire weekend with Eddie rigging up what he jokingly called her "Nightmare Project"—a series of holograms, sound systems, and motion sensors hidden inside her locker and wired to the school's maintenance duct system. It was crude. Experimental. Risky.
But it had one job:
Scare the living hell out of the Forbidden Five.
They came in at 7:55 AM, as expected.
Roxanne smirked, spinning a paint can on her finger. Nate cracked his knuckles, Drin held a container of bugs buzzing violently inside. Zack carried some kind of weird cursed trinket he planned to plant in Princess's desk. And Kura? She brought a crowbar.
They were ready.
They didn't know she was already there, watching.
Hidden behind a closed janitor's closet, Princess flipped the first switch.
The hallway lights flickered.
Then dimmed.
Drin buzzed to the ceiling. "What the hell?"
"I got it," said Zack, reaching toward the lockers. But just as he approached Princess's, a loud thud echoed from inside. Then another. Thud. Thud. THUD.
A metal screech followed.
The locker door burst open... but nothing was inside.
Then came the voice.
A woman's voice. Echoing. Croaking. UnFamiliar to none of them—but piercing. Cold.
"You hurt my daughter."
Roxanne froze.
More sounds. Horrific, glitchy moaning down the hall. Then out of the shadows came a tall figure—flickering, malformed, glowing from the eyes.
It was a hologram—but a lifelike one.
It looked like a zombified, demonic Carmilla. Her dress was torn. Her eyes leaked blood. Her voice was wet and bitter.
"You think fear is power? Let me show you what fear is."
Zack screamed. Kura fell backward over. Nate went pale.
But Rox?
Roxanne dropped to her knees, sobbing.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! PLEASE STOP!"
The lights slammed back on.
The figure vanished.
And standing in her place, in the center of the hallway, was Princess.
Dressed in all black. Calm. Cold. Arms folded.
The Five turned slowly, every nerve in their bodies shaking.
Princess stared right at them. She walked forward, deliberate and slow.
When she reached Roxanne, who was still crying on the floor, she didn't smile.
She just asked:
"Are you gonna stop now?"
Nate practically tripped over himself to get beside his sister, shielding her.
