After her panic attack, the Bad Guys insisted that Princess take a full week off from school to rest. She had been hesitant at first, but she had to admit—it helped. She caught up on sleep, spent time with her family, and finally let herself breathe.
By the time Monday rolled around, she felt ready to return.
Princess dressed in an oversized dark sapphire blue, violet, and raspberry pink striped sweater that draped comfortably over her frame. She paired it with a knee-length red plaid skirt and white wedge sneakers. Her pink hair was tied back in a loose half-ponytail, secured with a small fairy wing hair clip.
As the Bad Guys pulled up to her school, Wolf turned to her from the driver's seat. His golden eyes softened as he gave her a firm but gentle reminder.
"You're good enough, kid. Always have been, always will be. And if that Dwight gorilla gives you any trouble..." He smirked. "Let's just say Piranha's already got a plan to mess him up."
"Oh, si!" Piranha piped up from the backseat, grinning. "I got so many ideas!"
"Yeah, yeah," Snake muttered, rolling his eyes. "But let's maybe not get kicked outta town, alright?"
Princess couldn't help but laugh. She turned to look at them all—her dad, her family. The ones who always had her back.
"I will," she promised, then smiled warmly. "I love you guys."
"We love you too, kiddo," Webs said, giving her a small wink.
Princess took a deep breath before stepping out of the car. As she walked into the school, she felt lighter. Not completely free from the stress, but better.
She was going to be okay.
The moment she stepped into her history class, she was met with three familiar faces rushing toward her.
"Princess!"
Before she could react, Claudine, Laura, and Kira pulled her into a tight group hug.
"We heard about what happened," Claudine said, squeezing her tight. "We were so worried about you."
Laura nodded, looking at her with concern. "You okay now?"
"I'm okay," Princess assured them, hugging them back.
Kira, however, was not ready to let it go so easily. "I cannot believe that gorilla put you through that much pressure! What a total jerk."
Claudine folded her arms. "Yeah, and if I see him, I swear I'll—"
Kira cut her off, cracking her knuckles. "I'll kick him in places that should never be kicked."
Princess quickly held up her hands. "Guys, guys—calm down. My family already handled it."
Her friends exchanged glances, clearly still annoyed but trusting her word.
"Alright," Claudine relented. "But if he even looks at you wrong, we're throwing hands."
Princess giggled, touched by their protectiveness. "Noted."
With that, they all made their way to their desks as class started.
Later, Princess headed to social studies—the class she had been dreading the most.
As she stepped inside, her heart gave an uneasy thump. Mr. Dwight was already there, standing at his desk with his usual stern expression. But when his eyes landed on her, his usual scowl deepened into something sharper.
Princess swallowed, ignoring the cold glare he shot her way. She simply walked to her seat, choosing to focus on anything but him.
As she sat down, she turned her head slightly to see Eddie beside her.
