*Warning* VERY long chapter.
~The Mobian Kingdom~
The citizens of Mobius gathered around in the heart of the town as the rain fell on them. The townspeople were overly anxious due to news that quickly spread about other kingdoms joining the war against Merek. They were deeply worried about the potential outcome of the fight and equally confused as to why their King had not made them aware of the war or why he had been missing since his recent marriage.
A carriage pulls into the center, and Queen Sally gracefully exits. She smiles at the townspeople as she slowly makes her way up the town's high, grand stage. The townspeople stand in silence as they watch her reach the top.
Once atop the stage, she walks to the edge and widens her smile as she looks down at them. She spreads her arms and speaks loudly, "My dear citizens of Mobius, I am most delighted to be standing before you all today. It is an honor to be given this opportunity to speak to you all, not just as Queen of the Quercus Kingdom...but also Queen of Mobius."
She frowns, "Now, I'm sure you are all aware of the unfortunate and serious events unfolding in the western district, and I'm sure you have many questions on the matter. I am here to ease your mind on any concerns you may have. And with me to help answer your questions," She extends her hand and turns to her left as a familiar knight approaches. "Is the former head knight, Sir Fenriz of Mobius." Fenriz stands beside Sally, covered in bruises and wounds, with a smirk on his face.
The townspeople erupt in loud chatter. They bombard the Queen with a magnitude of questions, making her annoyed. She was unable to hear one coherent comment as they continued to shout over one another.
Sally huffs and raises her hand, "SILENCE!" The crowd slowly began to quiet down and anxiously looked up at her. She takes a deep breath and nods, "I know, dear citizens. I know you are all eager for answers. But I assure you that most of you share the same questions. So we will answer these questions...one at a time!"
The townspeople look at each other, and one member of the crowd shouts out, "M-My Queen, what is the current status of the Merek war?!" Sally nods, "The current status of the war is heavily unknown. As far as we know, the war is still ongoing, and there is no clear victory of either side." The crowd murmurs with concern. "Take solace in knowing that the four factions of our nation, including the Quercus kingdom and Mobius, are fighting hard against Merek's tyranny."
A woman from the crowd nervously steps forward, "Are we safe...?" Sally hesitates for a moment and clears her throat, "I...I-I believe that we will come out on top. The knights of both the Quercus and Mobius Kingdom have hardly ever lost a battle, and I do not see why this will be any different." The crowd grumbles amongst themselves, making Sally's eye secretly twitch.
Sally composes herself and smiles, "You all should know, should there be any...incident in the war, my kingdom has set up a refuge large enough to house all the kingdoms in our nation. No matter the outcome of this war, I assure you, I will keep you all safe."
Percy, from the stand just outside of the castle, steps forward, "Where is King Sonic, Your Majesty? Why has he not announced that he would be leading this war? Has something happened to him?" Sally secretly flinches but manages to keep her composure. "K-King Sonic...t-the King is...what you should know is..."
