Believe it To Be It

The Renegades, Rosy, Scourge, and Silver attempt to enter the hidden forest. It proves challenging as they must first, of course, make it past the giant serpent.

Scourge rolls out of the way of the serpent's attack and angrily growls, "Those ancient sorcerers were so ingenious for having a Basilisk guard the hidden forest!" Silver, who was carrying Amy, does his best to evade the snake, "Well, seeing as we're not in the hidden forest! I concur!" "Amy's mother is the former lady of the lake. Shouldn't that thing let Amy enter the forest with ease?!"

Blaze uses her flames in an attempt to startle the basilisk and shakes her head, "The ancient sorcerers learned to make use of the basilisks, but they were never able to control them! All they know is to attack on sight!" Rosy shoots an arrow at the snake, "Ugh, can we save the history lesson later! We need to get Amy to the lake now! Sorcerer! You're a descendant of some Ancients. I don't know...do some sorcery!"

Silver frowns at her, "Do you see how big this thing is?! I can't hold it by myself." Blaze rushes to him, "I can help you. We'll use our magic together." He shakes his head, "You know fire won't scare it, kitty. I just need some time to figure this out..." He looks down at Amy and sighs, "...Maybe I can lure it away. It should give you guys enough time to sneak Amy past-"

Rosy growls, "Oh, to hell with that! Amy's dying! We need to do something now!" Scourge scowls at her, "Rosy!" She ignores him, pulls two daggers from under her dress, and charges the snake. She leaps in the air and slams the daggers into the snake, causing it to screech. She smiles at the reaction, but gasps when the snake's body slithers viciously, knocking her to the ground.

The basilisk's eyes flash. It makes a hard turn and charges toward her. Scourge quickly stands in front of Rosy as the snake rises, gearing to lunge at them. The snake hisses and goes to strike, but is stopped by Silver holding its head in place.

Blaze gasps, "Silver!" Silver doesn't respond, and his eyes glow a bright amber color. Scourge frowns when he notices blood dripping from his nose and ears. He turns to see Amy's lifeless body on the ground, and then turns to Rouge, "Rouge, grab Amy! Everyone, let's move, now!" Scourge grabs Rosy and rushes into the hidden forest. Rouge grabs Amy, and the girls follow Scourge into the hidden forest.

Before she can enter the forest, Blaze freezes in her tracks, "Wait, we can not leave him! He will die if we do not help him!" Shade grabs her arm, "We'll all die if we don't get into the forest! Amy will die!" Blaze frowns and snatches away, "I'm not leaving him!"

Silver's eyes fade, and he collapses on the ground. The snake hisses and shakes his head, slowly locking eyes with Silver's body. It roars and quickly lunges at Silver. Blaze tries to rush to him, but Shade holds her back. The snake hovers over Silver's body, making Blaze panic, "NO!!!"

Before the snake can attack, they hear a loud, familiar bird cry and see a very bright flash above the basilisk, making it close its eyes. Blaze gasps, "Pyrrhus!" Pyrrhus squawks at Blaze and flies around the basilisk, making it hiss. As Pyrrhus distracts the snake, Shade and Blaze quickly rush to grab Silver and pull him into the hidden forest.

Once they're in the forest, they collapse to the ground. Shade heavily sighs, "That...is one angry snake!" Blaze quickly crawls to Silver and gently lifts his head, "Oh, Silver, are you okay? Can you hear me?" He doesn't move, and she gently shakes him, "Come on, my love. Wake up...please. Please say something to me." Silver stirs and mumbles. Blaze flinches and gently shakes him, "That's it! Come on, speak to me. Say something!" Silver groans and mumbles a little louder. She shakes her head, "W-What are you saying? Say it again!"
