~Jade Aslenna Simms~

I sat on the coffee table cross-legged sifting through old photos and putting them in a box. Andy sat on the couch drinking coffee and watching TV. His legs were resting in my lap on the coffee table. Memories ran through my head as I looked at each picture. Andy sighed and turned off the TV.
"I feel like I haven't slept in years," he groaned. For the last week and couple days, insomnia had captured Andy in its claws. He laid down with me every night and put as much effort in sleeping as he could, but apparently it wasn't even close to enough. The only sleep he'd gotten was the forty-five minute nap on the way to the local hospital a couple days back.
Amy had come down with something last week and was brought to the hospital on the brink of death. Doctors still haven't identified the illness and Andy's mom's health hasn't progressed. Chris says now we're playing the waiting game. Amy is at a stand-still. Andy's infuriated with the job being done by the doctors, but they're doing all they possibly can.
My boyfriend has probably seen more of his family in the past week then he has in years. Most of the family is hell bent and determined that this is the last time they'll see Amy. She's on a breathing machine and is being fed by a tube. All I know is that woman is far too young to die. It'll break Andy. Losing your mother at such a young age can take a toll on someone.
Andy readjusted his composure and laid his head on the embroidered throw pillow casually set on the black leather couch. I slid off of the table, placing the remaining pictures in a stretched envelope on the edge of ripping at the bottom. I sat in front of Andy's stretched out body and cupped his cheek in my palm. He smiled a little. I didn't say anything and neither did he.
The silence was comforting. This whole week has been filled with a never-ending chaos: people in and out of our house, guests inhabiting the three guest rooms at night, constant trips to the grocery store for more food, sleepless nights, stress-filled days, screaming of children of relatives, racking sobs. Andy grabbed my hand in his and opened his icy blue eyes to look at me.
"Do you think she'll be okay?" he asked.
I looked away from him and out of the window. "I don't know Andy."
He sighed and a knock on wood echoed through the house. I stood up and gave Andy a little smile. "I'll get it."
I walked to the door and opened it up, only to find a very preppy appearing family. I plastered a fake smile on my face and opened the door wider, stepping behind it. They all walked in and the blonde woman turned to me, "Where's Andrew?"
"He's in the living room. I-"
The woman muttered a 'thank-you' and led her family through my house. Bitch. I sucked in my breath, closed the door, and painted my smile back on. I walked back into the living room to find Andy talking to the woman. He looked over at me and smiled, "Hey beautiful."
My smile suddenly became real and I walked over to him. He enveloped me in his side and turned back to the woman. "As I was saying, we have three guest bedrooms, one of which is being taken up by my bandmate and his daughter."
"Well," she huffed, "do you think they could find somewhere else to sleep? Amanda and Nathan need separate rooms."
I stepped in, "Well, maybe we can arrange something, but Ashley and Ginger were here first, ma'am. I mean no disrespect."
She completely disregarded my comment and turned to Andy. "I really did like Juliet much better." Andy's mouth made a straight line and she continued. "Your bassist and his daughter will sleep in the living room, yes? Or perhaps, something else. I did see a motel about six miles up the road."
"I think it would be highly inappropriate for Ashley to sleep or the couch," I said. "How about you and your family could go to the motel if you're looking for three bedrooms, bitch."
She looked over at me, "I don't think you should be talking to me that way. You shouldn't be talking about who will inhabit this house, either. For it is not yours to speak about with that kind of authority."
"Jane," the man muttered.
Andy stepped in, "She has just as much authority as I do. This house is just as much hers as it is mine."
Jane, the woman, scoffed. Andy added more to his speech, "At least, Jane, I'm not like you. You know, pretending to love, just for money."
Her jaw dropped and I looked up at Andy. "Honey, why don't you go upstairs and cool down? I'll figure something out, alright?" He inhaled sharply, nodded, placed a sloppy kiss on my lips and galloped up the steps. I heard a giggle from upstairs and knew Andy had gotten a hold of Ash's daughter. Ashley came down the steps seconds later. I turned around and smiled at him, "Good morning, Ashley."
"Morning, princess," he smiled. His feet carried him to me and he laced an arm around my waist. "Who's this?"
I gave him a smile. "Actually, I don't really know."
Jane furrowed her brows. "So, what is this? Are you having another affair?"
"Excuse you?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
She replied quickly, "Well, I know about the whole thing with Andrew and I was just wondering if you were cheating again, but this time with his bandmate."
"Alright, you're gonna get your shit straight real quick." Her eyes widened. "I wasn't the one with the affair. Andy was. He cheated, not me. Ashley is best friend, nothing else. So before you run your mouth about things, you should know what you're running your damn mouth about. This is my house and better not prance around it like you own it. Do you understand me?"
Great first impression, Jade. I thought. Amazing job.
I heard a small laugh from the steps. "Who needs to cool down now?" I turned to see Andy holding Ginger on the steps. I instantly cooled down. Andy spoke, "We have a couch in our bedroom. If one of the kids wants to sleep on it, that's fine."
"Alright," the man said. "Amanda will sleep there. Nathan will have the other bedroom and Jane and I will sleep in the other guest room."
"It's settled then," I said and walked into the kitchen.

-Next Morning-

I rolled out of my vacant bed. Andy was nowhere to be seen and Amanda lay sleeping on the couch. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Andy stood in front of the coffee maker shirtless. I looked at the time on the stove. It was six o'clock. I sighed and sat down on a barstool. "Fix me one too?"
Andy turned around. "Good morning sunshine."
He put sugar in the big blue mug in front of him and placed it on the slab of marble counter in front of me. He returned to the coffee pot and I sighed. I heard light footsteps and turned to see Ginger standing behind me.
"Daddy wouldn't wake up," she pouted and raised her arms above her head. I picked her up and sat her in my lap. She was in nothing but underwear with tiny cats all over them. Andy walked over and kissed Ginger's forehead. "Good morning, Blondie." She giggled and I heard more footsteps. I turned around to see Jane in silk pajamas. Andy offered her coffee and she wrinkled her nose.
"I think your attire is highly inappropriate," she told me.
I looked down at my underwear and Andy's shirt. I just sighed and Andy threw me a pair of shorts. Ginger hopped off my lap and I pulled the shorts on. I was in no mood to deal with this woman. Andy's phone rang in front of me. He walked over and picked it up, motioning for me to follow him. I walked with him to the living room.

~Andy Biersack~

I pulled Jade into my side when we reached the living room and answered my phone.
"Hello?"
"May I speak with Andy Biersack?"
"This is he."
"I'm sorry to inform you that your mother passed away in the ICU this morning."
