Jade and I were far from what you would call a typical couple. You know, the kind of couples that can walk though the park without being bombarded by paparazzi and fight about not doing the dishes, not me texting my ex-finance who also happens to be my girlfriend's sister. But, here we were fighting over typical couple things: I hadn't put the wet clothes from the washing machine in the dryer. Typical, right?
"I asked you to do one thing, Andy. One thing!" Jade huffed.
"Calm down," I groaned.
Jade glared at me and stomped up the stairs. For our last week off tour Jade and I came to Jade's dad's house. Jade and Juliet's parents have been divorced since Jade was around three years old. (A/N: No idea if Juliet's parents seriously are divorced or if her dad's name is Matt or if he has a girlfriend named Madeline. Entirely made up.) Jade's dad, Matthew, lived in a log cabin right off the lake with his girlfriend, Madeline. It was peaceful here and it made you feel calm. I knew that wouldn't last long though. Jade had been at ease. She's a very tense person and is always stressed about something, but here she was carefree and happy. I knew we would live somewhere like this when we were married and had kids.
Matt and Maddy had given us a day to ourselves and went off o spend a day on the lake. Jade is trying to get everything neat and ready for dinner tonight with all of her dad's family and she's been very stressed.
Andy, what if they don't like you?
What if they think I've turned into some whore because I stole you from Juliet?
Does this dress look too trashy?
Babe, I'm so nervous.
Oh God. They're going to hate me.
I haven't seen them in years. I've changed a lot. What if they don't approve?
Should I curl my hair?
Andy, do I smell okay?
STRAIGHTEN YOUR TIE!
It's almost time to go...oh my God.
It wasn't anywhere near time to go. We had couple more hours and Jade looked beautiful as always and smelled fine too. My tie was straight and I was almost positive Jade's family would love this new, improved person that'd been hidden away and finally came out. No one would even think that Jade was a whore with me around. I'd knock the shit out of them, family or not.
I've always been a protective boyfriend. No one could hurt her, not even me. She was my baby and if anyone laid a finger on her they would definitely face the consequences. It wasn't a smart decision to even think about letting the wrong thing slip out. I might wear makeup, but mess with my girl, and you should start digging your own damn grave.
I heard a thump from upstairs and went upstairs to check on Jade. She was sitting on the bed running her hands through her hair.
"Hey," I said softly.
She looked up but didn't say anything. I sighed. Stubborn little thing. "Jade, I'm sorry I didn't switch out the clothes, darling."
"Just shut-up and leave me alone," she huffed.
"You're stressed babe. Take a couple deep breaths. It's the last week before we have to go back on tour. There's plenty of time to be stressed out then. Not now, right? Everything's going to be fine. You look beautiful. You always do. If anyone even thinks about telling you that you're a whore, I'll knock their fucking teeth out. Just calm-"
"I'm not stressed," she said, raising her voice a little.
I took a deep breath and shook my head, "Babe, you're extremely stressed. I don't understand why you give a fuck what people think."
"I don't give a fuck about what people think, Andy. I give a fuck about what my family thinks." She stood up.
"Your family has to love you. You could be a alcoholic, horned, polka dotted, Justin Bieber obsessed bitch who only wears lace panties and a Hannah Montana shirt in public, and they would still love you because you're their niece, their cousin, their aunt, their sister, their daughter. So don't worry about it, babe," I told her.
She rolled her eyes, "You obviously haven't met my father's family. They're perfect. Put me in the picture, and I'm out of place. Andy, my family isn't like yours. They're not so accepting. You can't wear leather and too much eyeliner. You can't like My Chemical Romance or Black Veil Brides. You listen to current 'normal' music, wear dresses and pink eye-shadow, act fake, or they hate you. They're super judgmental and it's not fair to someone fuck up like me."
I frowned, "Jade, you shouldn't think so lowly of yourself. I love you and you're perfect to me. You're perfect to Ashley, Jake, Jess, CC, Stella, Jinxx, Ella, and so many of my fans. You're Jade. You are my gorgeous, loving Jade. If anyone thinks differently, they can go fuck themselves and stop calling themselves your family. Your family is standing here staring you in the face."
"Andy, stop it. I know you love me and I know lots of people love me, but you guys aren't these people that I have to face today. That I have to change myself, put on a mask for," she sighed.
"You don't have to change for anyone," I muttered.
She shook her head, "You don't understand. Please leave me alone."
"Jade, I'm not going to leave you here to think you're not good enough."
"Go away."
"No."
"Leave me alone."
"Jade..."
"Andy, you're getting on my nerves."
"I don't care."
"Leave me the fuck alone."
"I won't."
"You will, Andy."
"No, Jade."
"Go."
"No."
"You know what, take what's yours and get the fuck out."
I shrugged and walked to the bed, threw Jade over my shoulder, and walked out the door.
