~Jade's POV~

"Dude, just give me one! I'm hungry."

"Nah, these are mine," I reply, even though my voice is muffled. I go back to chewing, and when I finish, I say, "I brought these for me! Not you."

"If you give me one, it won't look like anything moved. Your bag is full os snacks, man—I'M STARVING JADE," Zach exclaims, falling onto the desk with his arm sprawled out toward me.

I roll my eyes and take another bite of my... I think it's a Nutrigrain bar? Anyway, I bite into it and sneer at him. "Mmmm, it's so good, oh my goodness." It's really not, but whatever pisses him off.

When I lower the bar after taking a bite, Zach lifts his head slightly and spots the opportunity. In a quick swipe, he takes my snack and gets to his feet as quickly as he can. I watched him tear off the end that I'd bitten and started eating it, all with my jaw dropped.

"GIVE IT BACK!" I want to stand up, but I can't because Alex decided to fall asleep against me again.

With that stupid smirk, he sits criss-crossed on top of one of the desks and waves the bar. He has the audacity to bite it in front of me again. Gritting my teeth, I gently move Alex's head. Never have I bestowed so much gratitude on my bunched-up jacket, especially when it could serve as a pillow for her. So, when that problem's solved, and before Levi could have the chance to stop me, I jump up from my seat and rush over to Zach.

"Give it to me!"

"Hell nah," Zach laughed. He jumps up from the desk. "It's mine!"

We chase each other for a bit, yada yada, but I know I've won when I get him onto the ground. The bar is right there, so close to my hand, before someone else's gets under my arms and drags me away.

"You have a full bag of snacks, Jade." Levi's voice is weird. I want to say hypnotizing, but that'd sound like I have a thing for him. It's cool, like some ice you'd put on your face after running off pure adrenaline. "Go find something else that doesn't involve killing him."

"You're gonna let him snatch my shit?!"

He grabs my shoulders, turns me to the desk, and starts leading me there. "Yes, I'm going to let him take it. Sit down and relax, no need to put your hands on him."

"He was messing with my food," I whined. I'd tried making myself limp, but that didn't work.

"A piece of food that's nothing compared to whatever you haul around in that bag of mystery of yours." I sit down, then he does. He braces his arms on the table and goes back to those folders that he brings everywhere. I've wanted to snoop in them for a hot minute, but he never lets me, and I've held a grudge against him since he lets Zach catch a sneak peek every now and then. I know what you are, Levi.

After enjoying my lovely snack that I've been WAITING ALL DAMN DAY FOR (an hour), Zach tosses the trash into a nearby trashcan, walks over, and lowers into his chair. He kicks his shoes up onto the desk and leans back in his chair, waiting for anyone to notice him. I'd do whatever I could to ignore him and block him out.
