~3rd Person POV~
The once lively sky is engulfed by the threat of a storm, and every corner of the city is cast in the deep shadows of secrets that no civilian can spot. At this time of night, the streets are cleared aside from the occasional pedestrian, and the shops have long ended their closing shifts. As the world came to a standstill, everyone's nerves began to wind up. News of Kevin's case spread from whisperer to whisperer, soon finding itself broadcast, and citizens' paranoia took the better of them. Doors are securely locked. Shutters and blinds are drawn. Sleep has been stripped from those who desire it, for those who could sit uncomfortably knowing that a well-liked young man had been taken so suddenly, and the context behind the crime was left astray. Only those oblivious could find sleep.
Except for those who simply didn't crave the dreams and nightmares awaiting them. The blinds and doors kept the outside from leaking in, and that's exactly what was needed. Two silhouettes moved swiftly through the night, dipping into the shadows that no one would touch, their steps a tree falling in a forest. One has to remind the other constantly to lower her giggling, but she couldn't help it. Adrenaline was spiking in both of them, unwarranted, but not unwanted. New information raked their brains, blaring drums in a four-walled room, and the urge to spill it all was the most challenging thing to hold back.
After evading the public eye and risk of being spotted, the duo steps onto the roof, where the group waits. Junko held a pair of binoculars to her eyes, her legs swinging over the edge, and Mukuro wasn't too far away with nothing more than admiration in her eyes. Izuru was the first to know of their arrival and turned toward the shadows that they'd emerged from.
With a curious hum, Junko turns to face them. Her smile reaches her eyes effortlessly, and Junko stands back on the roof and holds the binoculars to her chiseled hip. "So? Fill me in. What's new, babes?"
The first pulls down her hood, letting her wildly dyed hair cascade over her shoulders and back, and she drops her gloved hands to her jacket pockets. "Same as always," Alex confided, skipping across the landing to the parapet. "No one knows what happened, and no one's asking the right questions. However, Levi and Darkness are doing pretty well with bypassing the offices and broadcasting systems. You're the last person they're suspecting for this case... But they're on your ass for the student council."
"Seriously?" It took every inch of control for Junko to suppress a scoff. Then again, the act of feigning ignorance was to no avail to her, as she knew more than anyone that this would happen. She strolled up to Alex and gently used her fingers to brush strands of pink and black behind the fashion designer's ears.
"Seriously. The classroom council—Ms Nikita and Ms. Yukizone—they're trying to grab whatever they can about whatever it is we're doing." Drake pulls down his hood next, giving a slight shake of his hand before running a hand through his hair. The lustrous rubies of his eyes made stars envious with how they pierced through the darkness. "And I'm more than certain that the Classroom Council is nothing above a spy gig, especially now."
"Gah, I guess that's good enough!" The temptation to snatch that actress role as well was more prodding now than ever for Junko Enoshima. Watching the world around you like everyone is following a script written by her hand, knowing what each person she'd perused would do. It's a trapping experience, but only she is the one to know it, playing a constant guessing game with unknowing participants. What will they do next? The answer is already there in her mind, and she's only left disappointed when they do, in fact, carry out her vision. But now, with her plan coming to be closer and closer to fruition than anything she'd put her heart out to, she could hardly hold back the elation coursing through her veins, a sparkly, tingling sensation that not even she wanted to relinquish.
