Chapter 35

Jade POV

Harry was making all of us mad. Sofie walked out and I saw the hurt expression on his face. But this was his fault. He needed to own up to it, though we knew he never would. We all sat there for a minute before Harry spoke again. Clearly drunk.

"you know Niall. I'm not sure why you're apologizing to everyone. Least of all Liam and his depressed little girlfriend over there. Thanks to them we're all like this. It's their fault."

My jaw dropped open. Everyone's did except Liam's. I think he was trying to not lose it on Harry. He was drunk, I got that but there was no need to say that. I wondered if he really meant what he said because he could get a little crazy when he was drunk. Liam took a step towards him and I thought he was about to hit him but he just stood there inches away from his face and spoke to him in a very calm, yet commanding voice.

"You are a pathetic little twat who needs to sober up or else I'll do it for you. Just because your life is pathetic and you can't feel good about yourself without being pissed doesn't mean you have to make any of us feel bad."

I could tell the younger boy was put off by Liam's words. He took a step back and cleared his throat. Louis stood up looking rather frustrated and tried to stop him but Harry, who was much bigger, pushed him away.

"don't get all preachy with me mister "I'm the perfect one". Just because you're older Liam doesn't mean you understand what I'm going through!"

I held Zayn's hand as Harry yelled at Liam. He wore a white tshirt and it was only then that I realized all the tattoos the boy had. I couldn't see some of them but the ones on his arms I could. Nails. A prism like pink Floyd. Hi. A heart. That stupid ship that Taylor was there for... Liam payed a lot of money to press to not use those pictures. It would break Sofies heart.

My thoughts of how stupid Harry was were interrupted when Zayn let go of my hand and grabbed Liam in a bear hug. I looked over to see both Niall and Louis doing the same exact thing to Harry. He was a lot stronger when he was drunk.

"would you two stop acting like you're twelve please?! Harry you're 20 and Liam you're 21." Moriah yelled over the boys all yelling at each other. I'm glad she said it. Sarah stood quietly in the corner with Sami. Moriah now stood in the middle on the group of boys pinching her nose. She looked really stressed. I walked closer to Gillian who I could tell felt bad.

"this isn't your fault." I said to her and I noticed Harry stop struggling against th other boys. I looked at him as if to say 'don't say a word' but despite my glares he spoke loudly.

"No, this is Liam's fault. He's the one who knocked you up. He's the one--" we all stopped and glared at the youngest boy who was acting that way. Sarah, who hadn't talked the entire time, who was still in the corner, Finally yelled louder than anyone.

"No one cares about how sad your life is! Just because you hate yourself doesn't mean you have to hate everyone else! Its not Liam's fault you're alone! Now leave or I will call security!"

Harry looked at her and then angrily shook Louis' hand from his shoulder. It made me sad. Those two used to be best friends. And, well, we all used to be. Maybe we were all growing apart after all...

Sami walked out with Harry as he started to cry. She rolled her eyes and once the door shut behind them we all looked at each other in silence.

Would they hate us or think we're irresponsible if we told them we were married? Would we get in another fight? I mean, I wasn't even twenty... And we all used to be so close....

Liam POV

Gillian excused herself first and I knew she would go back to hers and cry. Zayn and Jade looked worried but I motioned for them to not worry about it and to go. I wondered how different it was to be married. To think that was almost us... And we almost... I had to stop thinking about the past and deal with the present.

Zayn and Jade went and hugged both Sarah and Niall and I was happy they were alright. They left quickly and that left Moriah, Louis and I with Niall and Sarah. I stood there and looked at Louis who rubbed circles into his temples and I knew what was happening with his sister was stressful. I didn't blame him.

He stood up and Niall looked at him and smiled. "Hey Lou?" Louis turned around and hummed his response. I could tell he was holding back tears. "what's wrong?" Niall asked as Moriah answered her phone and left with a hug from Sarah. I felt a little awkward standing to the side and watching their conversation.

"nothing Niall. I'm fine. It just Harry... " Louis trailed off and I knew that wasn't true. But I also knew he didn't want to worry anyone else with his sister. Gillian said Lottie hasn't even told Lou about all of it and that she promised to Lottie that she wouldnt tell anyone but me. Moriah came and talked to me about how stressed she was with the wedding too once .

"well I was supposed to ask you something before we were uh... Interrupted. Louis, will you be my best man? " if I didn't feel awkward before, I did now. I wasn't mad that I wasn't asked. Not At all. I smiled warmly as two of my best friends embraced. Lou made sure Ni was serious and left with a smile.

" I should go though. I'll talk to you later." Louis told both of us and I gave him a sympathetic smile as he walked out. I turned to Niall and he came up and jumped into my arms. I laughed as we hugged for a long time. I missed Nialler. I missed him. He was like my little brother, even if we were only a few weeks apart. "I missed you Li." he laughed and I reciprocated his statement. "missed you too Ni." we let go and we stood there and laughed for a minute.

"Go talk to Gillian." he smiled and nudged me out. "but hey, what's with Louis? And did Zayn and Jade act a little weird today?" I hated lying but I knew I had to. "we're all probably just excited and put off by Haz. But I should go. I'll talk to you later okay Ni?" as I turned and was almost out the door he yelled. "we share a flat you know. Come over for a movie tonight? Also Nandos tomorrow!!!!"

I laughed.
