25- Oh My God They Were Roommates.

The next day, Clotted Cream is ready for hero work again!

Clotted Cream walks into the Hero HQ Rec room/bar. He sits at the counter and sighs. Sparkling smiles, "You look like you've had a rough day, and it's only the morning. Here! Have a drink."

Clotted shakes his head, "No thanks, I'm fine without it."

Sparkling pushes the glass closer, "No no, I insist. It's on the house."

Rye elbows Clotted Cream, "C'mon, dude! You need to learn to loosen up more! Your boss at CusTech or whatever ain't here to stop ya!"

Clotted Cream leans away, "Can you stop? I shouldn't be drinking anyways. I just got out of the hospital yesterday."

All the nearby heroes stare at him. Madeleine rushes up to him and starts checking him for injuries, "WHAT HAPPENED ARE YOU ALRIGHT? DOES IT STILL HURT??"

Clotted gently pushes him away, "I'm fine now, I just hurt my hand pretty bad. My roommate-"

Latte gasps, "Roommate? When did you move?"

"Yesterday."

"Wait, but you just got out of the hospital yesterday.."

Clotted's snake arms move closer to himself, "Yeahhhh what a crazy coincidence."

Madeleine narrows his eyes, "Your roommate didn't put you in the hospital, did they?"

"Ummmm technically yes? He took me to the hospital after I passed out. It was a pretty eventful first meeting."

"Wait, you don't even KNOW who you're living with?!"

Espresso scoffs, "I barely knew you when I moved into your house, Madeleine."

"That's different!"

Financier rolls her eyes, "Where did you even hear about this new roommate of yours? It had better not be Killer Kitty."

Clotted Cream laughs nervously, "It uh... It was..."

"No wonder you got hurt. You listened to a villain."

"He wasn't the one who hurt me! I got hurt because I was um.. Chased by a different villain!"

"Who chased you, then?"

Clotted Cream goes quiet, trying to come up with a plausible excuse.

Mont Blanc walks into the room, "So, Financier, I heard your concerns about- CONSUL! What happened to your CAPE?!"

"Uh-"

"You must come with me to fix this at once!"

She drags him out of the room.

Financier takes a cup of tea from Sparkling, "So... Which villain could have possibly been chasing him yesterday after the incident at the bank?"

Sparkling shrugs, "Maybe it's a villain in his home life. He did just move out, and he was at the Bank yesterday."

Mala Sauce puts her hands on her hips, "HOW WOULD YOU KNOW? HE NEVER TALKS ABOUT THAT STUFF!"

Knight crosses his arms, "Maybe there's a reason he doesn't talk about it!"

Adventurer pats him on the shoulder, "I'm just glad he has someone to turn to. If not, he can come live with me and my mom!"

Mala Sauce throws her arms in the air, "WILL YOU SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR MOM?!"

"Why? Are you jealous?"

"NUH-UH! I HAVE TWO DADS!"

Adventurer puts a hand on his hip, "I don't need two dads, I have the best Mom ever!"
