Chapter 10: Baroness

We left the daycare center a few days ago. I carried a basket that previously had my extra Poképuffs in. Now I'm just carrying it with the berries I got from the farm I went to the other day to plant and stuff.

Staying in the daycare was nice. I got to take care of the Pokémon and got to know the couple there, but I just knew that if I stayed any longer, my dad would be closer than I think

"Dra!" Dratini, on my shoulder, looked up and saw a beautiful castle near a large river. I believe I could see some people battling on a battlefield on the water connected to the building

"This place looks cool, let's see what's up!" Dratini doesn't often like going into her pokéball, so she relaxes on my shoulder like a scarf or something. I don't mind at all. I adore seeing how her coat looks. She's more of a unique Dratini than the usual blue ones

I walked into the building and could see a bunch of people's backs, looking out in what I'm guessing the battle I had seen earlier. The building was amazing... There was fancy red carpet, the walls were white, there were many paintings, and I believe I do see butlers and maids walking around here.

"Wow..." I wonder what this place is though. I turned my attention to a blonde woman wearing a camera "Viola?" She looked over at me and gasped, rushing over to me happily to hug me. I hugged her back, glad she's hugging me around my neck instead of my back

"Serena! It's good to see you!" She smiled

"Hey there"

"It's a surprise to see you here! What is your title in the nobility?" What..? "From looking at the look on your face, you don't know what that is, do you?" I shook my head embarrassed

"No, sorry" she giggled.

"That's quite fine. See, your title here at the Battle Chateau shows everyone just how strong you are" oh? That sounds interesting. But isn't she a gym leader? "Only a handful of trainers can join the ranks of the nobility and earn these titles!"

"Oh! And I was wondering why a gym leader like yourself would be here. Only specific people can be here then" she nodded. An old man walked up to us. He looked fancy with his grey suit and white tie

"Lady Viola, are you acquainted with the young lady?" He asked Viola. I gasped and cupped my mouth.

"He called you Lady Viola! Does that mean you're a princess or something?" The two giggled at me. My entire face went red. What? When you watch as much TV as I do, not many things make sense! He called her Lady Viola, after all.

"No, it's just a formal greeting," she told me and looked back at the man, "and actually, I'm sort of like her guardian. She also has a bug badge on her" He looked at me surprised

"Ah, so she's like your child" Viola nodded confidently. Oh, Viola, you're too good to me. I wish I still had a parent that has so much confidence in me "not only as a child, but she recognized your ability as a trainer, then"

"I... I guess so" I smiled shyly. Viola stared at my Dratini and already started taking pictures. I just went with it and started smiling at her. Dratini copied me

"It is a pleasure to meet you, my lady. My name is Hennessy" the man told me while bowing. So formal! I feel like a princess now!

"I'm Serena" I curtsied politely.

"Lady Serena, a fine name" Lady Serena, I like the sound of that.

"I will gladly recommend Serena, so will you grand her a beginning title?" Viola asked him randomly "she has the makings of a very strong trainer, so I'm sure she will contribute to the Battle Chateau" how would she know I'm strong? We haven't even battled. Oh! Speaking of battling her...
