Chapter 48: Frozen-

We all have gone through the welcoming ceremony of my Glaceon and Wonder receiving their ice stones. From now on, they will no longer be able to leave the castle and now will live a longer life than the rest of my Pokémon will

The ceremony was the same as I remembered it. Froslass asked for their oath and presented my Pokémon with the stone once they proved their loyalty. I was asked to hold the stones to make the markings official, and I'm already on my way to leave them for a short while

"Will you come back?" Wonder asked. I smiled before taking a step towards the exit.

"I didn't take you here just so I can abandon you. You have your mother, and Glaceon has a new important role. This is my home too, so of course, I'll be back. I can't tell you when I'll come back, but don't worry too much about me" I winked "I'm a strong girl" my loyal servants of the castle bowed for me

"Stay safe, princess" They all said. Froslass was the first to stand straight.

"We will be waiting for your arrival."

"Again" I sighed "I'm sorry for leaving on a short notice. I have to do this. Team Flare is out there and determined to ruin people's happiness. I won't let them do what they want. Besides, they stole from the castle. That will not go unpunished."

"You sure you want to do something that dangerous?" Leo asked, holding his Pokéball to get his Mamoswine ready for the journey of tall snow up ahead

"Dangerous is my middle name" I nervously laughed "It's a little overwhelming to think I have to go and take back a dangerous legendary Pokémon, but it's what I've been destined to do. This will be the most my family has ever done for our people. I'm confident that I'll make it out safely. I'm sure I won't be alone" I waved to everyone "please don't wait up on me, I will be back" everyone waved back with tears in their eyes. I smiled at them all and left Dendemille Town to route 17 with Leo on his Pokémon

"So..." Leo said "Was the castle everything you expected?" I nodded

"It didn't change at all since the last time I've been there. I've remembered enough. I just wished I had more memories of my parents, but you and me both know that's not possible" the farther we left town, the more the wind was picking up. The road started building up high hills of snow. Leo lifted my hood for me as he handed me a piece of paper. I took the paper, careful not to let it blow off, and smiled at what I was looking at

"My father lives in Anistar City. I went to pay him a visit while you were cleansing and found this picture while he was fast asleep. I found that picture in his books" I stared at the picture of my mother on a bed, carrying a baby towards the camera with my father smiling with her. They looked sickly pale, just as I saw in my memory, but they looked so happy carrying me. It's like it was the best day of their life, even if it was their last "my father told me a lot of stories about the castle and the royal family. He was also the one that delivered you. You might not know this, but he served as the castle's doctor as well as the priest. He told me that I would have taken his spot once he retired, but then you were gone. Celebi told me to keep on studying, so I did" he looked over at me "even if the legendaries had made you suffer, they don't wish to bring you harm" I nodded and hid the picture in my badge case. I understand... even if it hurts to know that I was forced to be something they want me to be, I wouldn't have met my mother or my friends if it wasn't for leaving the castle...

"Thank you for the picture. I look forward to meeting your father" he looked confused "what? Didn't you say he lived in Anistar City? That's where we're heading to, right?" He rubbed the back of his neck at the same time Mamoswine passed through the snow that brushed on my legs. With a Pokémon this large, I'm surprised this much snow can build up to almost cover its body. Leo made sure to lead and walk pass the mountain so we wouldn't crash
