Chapter 23: Collar

"Sylv?" Sylveon walked next to me, staring at Dragonair's fainted body. I shook her body and watched her eyes slowly opening.

"You okay, sweetie?" She whined. I lifted her body and walked back to my bag to feed her a max revive.

"Are you alright, Serena?!" Korena asked. I ignored her. I couldn't talk right now. I felt bad. I didn't know what was going on... That vision or memory I just remembered, that hoop Pokémon... It's the cause of all my misfortune, but it's for a purpose... For the better good? How can it all go good exactly? I just want it to stop...

"Hey..." I flinched and looked at Mawile standing in front of me with a frown. Sylveon's ribbon was wrapped around my wrist, making me notice how much I was shaking. I shut my eyes and felt that I was already crying "are you okay..?" I shook my head

"I'm scared..." I cried "why me..? Why is everything happening to me..?" Mawile rubbed my arm for comfort "for the better good..? What's that suppose to mean..?" I looked in my bag and took out the intriguing stone with the blue glowing inside, and the keystone "just what are these things... They are from my home and yet... I don't even know anything" I cupped my eyes

"I believe in you" I looked at Mawile "you're the best trainer I ever had..." I looked at her confused "I know you're strong enough to help me mega evolve... Anything you go through shows how strong you are now from just being here" she held my hand "don't cry... Anything that'll happen, we'll be here for you" I smiled and softly head-butted her

"Thank you" I looked down at the keystone and took a deep breath, then stood on my feet to look at Korena standing next to her Lucario, worried. Everyone was just staring at me. I took a deep breath and nodded

"I'm fine," she asked me if I was alright earlier, I didn't even answer her "I'm ready."

"You sure?" She frowned. I nodded and looked at Mawile.

"Let's do this" she nodded confidently and ran to the battlefield.

"I've been waiting for this moment! Come on, Lucario! Let's mega evolve!" She lifted her hand and pressed the keystone on the back of her hand. Once that happened, the stone and Lucario started glowing. Lucario changed forms again. Hopefully, nothing happens

"Okay... I'm ready" I stared at the keystone in my hands. Those words about this having balanced power keeps popping in my head "Mawile!" She looked at me and nodded. I nodded and closed my eyes, feeling warmth in my heart.

I opened my eyes and saw Mawile changing forms. She started getting two jaws, and her little outfit changed as well. She looks so powerful "We did it!" I gasped. I got this down, now I have to keep myself from losing the keystone. She smiled happily at me and stood her ground, staring at Lucario staring

"Way to go, Serena!" Korena shot me a thumbs up "now the real battle can begin! Use bone rush!" Lucario created a bone with its hands and aimed for a hit

"Double team!" Mawile multiplied herself to confuse her opponent "double fire fang!" All her doubles appeared at Lucario, and my real one attacked him from the back, making it cry in pain

"Power up punch! Then Extreme speed!" Lucario punched Mawile away and escaped at a quick speed. Mawile rubbed her stomach and glared

"Iron Defense!" Her body glowed, increasing her defense

"Bone rush!" Lucario remade that bone and attacked Mawile, but she wasn't as hurt as she was earlier. She opened both her jaws and they started sparkling in electricity. The Lightning above us was shocking. I looked at my Pokédex and smiled at her new move. Hopefully, she isn't attacked like Dragonair was
