The signs were hard to read, but the people were easy. That was always a constant in this land. While South Korea and Japan may be close geographically, their calligraphy was very different.
Still, as Dekeu walked through this city, it seemed to be... on edge. Heroes were all around, yet they were tense, waiting for something to happen. Other people went about their day, but they were trying their best to not be the center of attention. To remain in the background. It was clear something had descended onto the city, and wasn't going to leave until it had its fill of blood and violence.
It was a place that would definitely lure in the Savage. All she had to do was wait.
Momo wasn't quite sure what to make of her internship. She had been scouted by many, and, while the choice was not obvious at first, it soon became that way once she found her new mentor's name.
That being a relatively unknown hero: Paradox.
Of those who know him, he was known for his unique appearance, and how he utilizes it in the underground scene. Infiltration, rescue, and villain apprehension were his best skills, and it all came from the unique additions to his body. Or rather, the rumored replacement of his left arm. Whispers seeped through of where he came from, or even if his quirk was even natural to begin with. That was why she chose him.
If it was true, then he could guide her with future upgrades. If not... well, she could still learn about heroism from him, especially underground heroism, and if nothing else... that alone would be greatly helpful.
Still, her first day was... not what she expected someone of his reputation to be. Walking through the door, she met with him directly in the derelict building. The meeting was already on uneven terms. She had entered through the main entrance, confident in her abilities... only for her not to detect him at all. Her eyes could see in multiple different ways at this point. Visual, Infra-red, Ultra-violet, even a form of techno-vision, in which she could see how technology interacts with the world around her... but... she didn't see him.
A muffled voice stated with a tired sigh. "So reliant on your senses, but still they blind you."
Whirling around, she found a figure standing taller than her, albeit not by much. He wore a dark jacket, with some modifications. For one, his left arm was cut off, instead a deep purple fabric covering up his massively deformed arm. It hid its appearance. Two, the collar of his jacket went high, covering his mouth at the same time, causing his voice's distortion. Dark shards of a glassy substance speckled the jacket, and a few larger pieces hovered around his head, which seemed to remain far too still for his breathing pattern. Wearing a hood, dark violet hair poked out, barely discernible from the shadows he seemed to appear from. The part that drew her attention was his eyes. They glowed vibrant violet, almost completing a violent vivisection through them alone.
They were captivating, to say the least.
After a moment, she shook her head, "Sorry sir, I didn't see you..."
"No, you wouldn't." He stepped past her, before stating, "I cut corners through forgotten dreams, taking roads through years. I allow you to see me." Looking through a doorway further in, he continued to speak to her, "I know why you chose me. I can see your soul's yearning." Turning back, his tired gaze met her own. "Unlike most, I am familiar with unraveling cyborgs. I could tell the signs during your sports festival. First, your eyes, next, your ears, then your arms and legs, tearing out cartilage, bone and sinew, replacing muscle with synthetic fibres. You will replace yourself given time."
