Chapter 15

Caden pulled the key out of his ignition. He sat in his car for a minute just looking at the house.

He was in the driveway of the Palmer household. The house was not small and seemed to fit a good amout of people. Though it was not big like Anderson's house.

For a second he questioned what he was doing here. What did he need a painting for? Then he remembered the way Tammy lit up just talking about it. He smiled to himself and with that thought he got out of his car. There was a nice flower bed in front of the house.

He knocked on the door a few times and waited.

When no one answered for awhile he was about to ring the doorbell but the door opened as soon as he was ready to. He moved his hand back to his side.

It wasn't Tammy who opened the door though. It was someone a few years older than her maybe around his age even. He assumed this was her sister. She had the same curls Tammy did. Hazel eyes that almost matched Tammy's brown ones. Except this girl had red hair. She opened the storm door now to speak to him.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

Wow she even sounded like Tammy. Maybe this was Tammy and she dyed her hair? No he was sure this girl was older. She was about 5 ft 7 and Tammy wasn't that tall.

"Um yes I'm Caden Rogers I came to speak with Tammy about buying a painting."

She smiled as she took notice of how he looked.

"You're Caden huh?" She asked, opening the door all the way.

"Yep."

She allowed Caden to step in the house.

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Samantha but please call me Sam." She introduced herself.

Caden shook hands with her.

"It's very nice to meet you Sam." He told her.

"You know I'll be working with ARRO in a few months. I'll be a medic." Samantha informed.

He nodded.

"Yeah I know Tammy told me it's kind of a family job to join ARRO." Caden told her.

Now Samantha nodded.

"More like a family competition to try and outdo each other." Samantha laughed after she said that.

"Why is that?" Caden wondered.

"It just is." She told him with a shrug.

When Caden still seemed confused she saw no harm in actually explaining.

"It started with our bother who joined first. Then our other brother who joined as a demolition expert and I still think mom is going to kill him for it." Samantha explained more.

"So how are you and Tammy out doing them?" He was interested.

"I told you I'm gonna be a medic. I told my brother it was so I could help the people he hurt with explosives but he just said he mainly disarms bombs more than he arms them."

Samantha rolled her eyes just thinking about it, as if she partially did not believe her brother's words. Caden smiled. He thought it would have been nice to have a lot of siblings like they do.

"Then you can't tell me Tammy doesn't just outdo us all by partnering with the highest ranking agent there is." She finished.

"You guys are quite the interesting bunch." Caden told her in a good way.
