Chapter 26
Car horns blared outside from five o'clock traffic but seriously where do they expect the drivers to go? Most agents were out on a mission. Daniella and Anderson were to busy answering phone calls to be spoken too. Yep, it was a Friday.
"Ow Caden!" Valerie complained as he put an icepack over her eye.
She was sitting in his office chair and he was knelling down in front of her. He felt bad she has gotten hurt today but truthfully she was asking for it.
"I told you not to provoke that guy." Caden told her.
Valerie just grumbled a few things to herself in response. They had just gotten back from a mission that was successful for the most part.
Caden stood up and sat in the other office chair Valerie never sits in.
Valerie moved the icepack away from her eye and looked at her reflection using the computer screen. The man did not give her a full on black eye, it was mainly bruised around the outer edge. Caden thought the guy was generous actually, considering by that man's size he could have hit her a lot harder and Caden was sure he meant to stay away from her actual eye. That did not mean Caden did not stand up for her when that guy punched Valerie.

Later that night the phone rang which most likely meant a mission."No, my eye still hurts." Valerie complained.
Caden answered and listened for the details. When he hung up the phone he made Valerie move the icepack away, it was pretty much melted by now anyway. He thought she looked better, you could barely tell she was even hit.
"You're fine." Caden assured her.
"Are you a doctor?" Valerie asked annoyed.
Caden smiled at her, not upset with her being grumpy.
"Don't give me that attitude Jones. I'm not a doctor but I have been punched before, so trust me, you're fine." Caden explained.
She sighed and stood from the chair Caden normally sits in.
They walked downstairs and holstered up. When they were picking out there weapons they both grinned and looked at each other out of the corner of their eyes. They were both thinking about their little shooting match. Caden shifted his eyes to a machine-gun and then back to Valerie with a smirk on his face. She playfully nudged him with her elbow as if telling him not to mention the fact he won.
Since Valerie remembered her badge she did not start a fight with the girl who gives them their radios. They always glare at each other though.
They ran to the roof, getting in the helicopter as normal.
"I didn't even think to ask the mission." Valerie had to speak through her headset to be heard.
The helicopter they were on was an older version so it was one without doors.
"Someone went missing at a party. We're gonna have a look around the place." He explained.
Valerie opened her mouth to reply but before she could someone else spoke.
"Jones what happened to your eye?" The helicopter pilot asked surprised.
"Nothing." She replied quickly, turning her face so he could not see the bruised side.
"Rogers what happened to her eye?" The pilot changed people, knowing Caden would tell him the truth.
"She egged someone on until shockingly-" Caden gasped over dramatically. "she pushed them to far." Caden explained.
