Chapter 2

The warm sun shined into Caden's bedroom through his window. He was peacefully sleeping in on this restful friday morning. Caden only got Monday and Friday off. He worked Saturdays and Sundays because those were normally busy days.

His phone began to ring waking him up. Caden turned on his side to look at his clock. {7:00am} He barely opened his eyes to see who was calling. The picture of an arrow showed up. "Can't you leave me alone on my day off." Caden moaned to himself as he snatched his phone off the nightstand.

"What?" Caden asked grumpily.

"Good morning to you too." Anderson joked, laughing a bit on the other end of the phone.

"What is it?" Caden asked again.

"I need you to come into work today." Anderson told him.

"Ugh!" Caden moaned flopping on his back and staring at his ceiling.

"You know if you weren't my best friend I'd fire you Caden." Anderson joked. Caden could hear him laughing on the other end.

"Whatever Anderson, ya haven't fired me yet!" Caden reminded him.

"Be here by nine." Anderson said.

"Yeah ok."

The two hung up without neither one bothering to say goodbye. Caden tossed his phone onto his bed.

He sat up and yawned. His feet touched his wooden floor but it had been warmed up by the sun. His was thankful it wasn't ice cold like normal. He took a hot shower then quickly got dressed. He tied up his combat boots he normally wore to work. He snatched his phone off his bed and put it in his pocket.

Caden decided to skip breakfast but made a cup of coffee. He used a cup he could throw away at work and realized he didn't have his car keys. He searched his pockets but they weren't there. He put his coffee on his counter and started looking for them. "Have to work on my day off, lose my car keys, anything else wanna happen today?" Caden complained to himself.

He lifted up papers and threw around couch pillows. It seemed he was always losing his keys. Time seemed to fly by as he couldn't find them. As he was rushing around he knocked over a pair of his shoes and suddenly his keys fell in the floor. He looked down at them realizing they somehow ended up in his shoes. "What?" He asked himself confused. Not caring to much to question it he jerked them off the ground, grabbed his now cold coffee, and left.

As he drove down the road he drank his cold coffee anyway. He was starting to regret his decision to skip breakfast though. He forgot coffee didn't really sit well with him on an empty stomach.

He pulled into his normal parking spot and checked his watch. {8:59am} "Right on time" Caden said. He was surprised he wasn't late with the way he lost his keys.

He got out of his car and locked it. He put his keys in his pocket making sure not to lose them. As Caden walked into the large building their secretary Daniella greeted him. "Good morning." She said, with a warm smile.

He waved at her but did not speak. He wasn't trying to be rude but they never spoke much anyway. Normally they just told each other good morning and that was it. He wasn't even 100% sure her name Daniella. She always kept her hair tied up neatly in a bun but she did have bangs. She was a brunette with brown eyes. She always dressed business casual and wore that look well. He wasn't sure how old she was but then again she probably didn't know much about him either. Caden passed a fellow agent who offered a friendly smile.

"Rough day?" The man asked, noticing Caden's expression.

"Sort of."

"I didn't think you were suppose to come in today." The man noted confused.
