Chapter 19
Well another day stuck in the hospital. Caden has tried to get up a few times but the nurses won't let him. Yeah he understands he might hurt himself but he is stubborn, and board.
Caden was getting tired of looking at the same white walls already.
He learned the hospital has almost no good TV channels.
He can't even look out his window because he can't see out of it from his bed.
Caden sighed crossing his arms feeling sorry for himself.
"Mr. Rogers someone is here to see you." He heard Ann tell him.
Caden looked toward her direction to see her back was already turned to him and she was already walking away. Caden stayed facing the doorway waiting to see who it was.
Caden really shouldn't have been surprised to see Anderson walking through the door but he honestly was a little bit.
Anderson walked forward with a friendly smile and sat down in the chair next to him.
"Should I ask how you are or tell you you're crazy?" Anderson asked him.
Caden laughed needing a good laugh today. He ignored the pain it caused his chest because it made him feel mentally better.
"Shouldn't you be, I don't know, watching your work?" Caden asked suspiciously.
Anderson shrugged.
"I thought the plus of being a boss was being able to get off work when needed?" He told him.
Now Caden shrugged.
"If you say so, don't blame me if ARRO burns down or something today." Caden joked with him.
"I'm not worried about that, you're not there to start the fire Caden." Anderson teased.
Then both of them gave up there argument to laugh. Man was Caden glad to see him today.
"So seriously how are you?" Anderson sincerely asked.
"I'm good. Board out of my mind and restless but I'm good." Caden admitted.
"Good because I'm here to keep you company not give you a pity party." Anderson was back to teasing.
Caden rolled his eyes when the phone next to his bed started ringing.
"Hello?" Caden answered.
"How are you feeling today?" An all to familiar voice beamed.
"I'm good Tammy." He told her, now suddenly smiling to himself.
"That's good. I've missed you at work today." She told him sighing at the end.
Should he be flattered or worried she was getting to close?
"Thanks. How is work going today?" He said anyway.
"It's been great! Anderson assigned me to a wonderful team. They've been so nice and welcoming." Tammy talked highly of them.
"Which team?" Caden had to wonder.
"Our Captain's name is Shields." Tammy was not sure of the first name.
Caden nodded knowing the name. He knew James was a good Captain and knew he would take good care of her.
"That's nice. Have you guys been on on the search team?" Caden asked Tammy but looked over at Anderson.
Anderson gave him a warning look and shook his head.
It was silent from Tammy too.
"Never mind." Caden quickly took it back.
