After describing how she felt during the vision, Vi interjected, " Starfania, out of curiosity, when did these visions start? "
Starfania pondered for a moment, then she looked at the sword that was hanging on the wall. " I guess it started when I first received that sword. "
"Interesting," Vi said, leaning in a little closer. "And what was it like for you at first?"
Starfania crossed her arms, her gaze still fixed on the sword. "At first, it was just fleeting images. They came and went without warning. I didn't think much of them."
Vi raised an eyebrow. "But then they changed?"
"Yes," Starfania replied, her voice dropping to a whisper. "As time went on, the visions became more vivid. They felt almost... alive."
"Alive?" Aeron echoed, intrigued. "What do you mean?"
Starfania turned away from the sword and faced Aeron fully. "It's hard to explain. It's as if they were trying to tell me something—something important."
Vi and Aeron nodded, absorbing her words. "And do you have any idea what that something might be?"
Starfania hesitated, memories swirling in her mind. "I think it is my destiny. But I'm still trying to figure it all out."
Starfania then turned to them and asked, " Is there something to eat? I'm famished after being in that trance."
Aeron smiled and gestured toward a plate nearby. " While you were in that vision, I took the liberty of preparing some food for you. I figured you'd be hungry when you woke up. "
As the plate was brought to her bed, the aroma of the steaming dish filled the air. They even brought their food into her room so they could all enjoy the meal together. Atlas settled beside her, his tail swaying as she ran her fingers through his smooth scales.
After finishing their meal, Starfania stepped onto the balcony, Atlas following silently behind her. Before her, the breathtaking sight of the nation stretched far and wide, bathed in the gentle glow of sunrise. The horizon shimmered with hues of gold and amber, painting the sky in delicate pastel. With a sigh of contempt, she climbed onto Atlas's back, letting the steady rhythm of his breath steady her. Soon, Aeron and Vi joined Starfania, with Drogo trailing behind them. Vi turned her head to Starfania, her voice laced with curiosity. " Where are you going? "
" Don't you remember we have to go to the lab to see if they found a way to reverse the effects of the poison? " Starfania reminded them, recalling what the head scientists shared with them the previous day. Aeron nodded, his brow furrowed with concern. "I just hope they have good news. It feels like we've been waiting for ages."
Vi fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, clearly anxious. The gravity of their mission weighed heavily on them all.
Starfania smiled faintly, appreciating the beauty around them for a moment before the urgency of their task pulled her back.
"Every moment we wait is a moment that the dragons could be suffering. We have to find a solution," she replied, her voice steady but urgent. Atlas shifted beneath her, sensing her determination. The sun continued to rise, casting long shadows across the balcony.
"Okay, then let's make it quick. We can't afford to waste time." Vi spoke with a newfound resolve, her eyes narrowing on the city below as if willing the answers to come from there. Together, they set off down the winding path towards the lab, each step echoing with purpose. Starfania felt a mix of hope and anxiety. The lab held the promise of salvation, yet the fear of failure loomed large in her mind. The day had just begun, and already the weight of their journey pressed upon her shoulders. They would face whatever awaited them together.
