AN: Welcome to another chapter of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). This is a very short interlude about Alex and Riel going to Iowa to see his sister, mom, and brother after his brother tried to kill his little sister.
This takes place directly after the previous episode.

Alex Karev and Riel Lennon were fast asleep in their bedroom at the frat house. Both of them were tangled together, Alex laying flat on his back, while Riel was cuddled on his chest.
So, he groaned when he phone kept ringing off the hook.
Alex reached blindly for the phone, accepting the call not even looking at the caller id.
"Hello?" He grunted.
"Alex." His aunt, Ruthie, said on the other side, her voice was choked up, like she had been crying.
"Ruthie?" Alex asked concerned, Ruthie called him at least once a week, to keep him informed of what was going on. And, they hadn't talked this past week and a half because she had been on vacation, on a well deserved cruise with her in-laws and her own family. Amber had called a few times, mentioning she thought mom had gone off her meds, but the meds were missing from her pill box but something seemed off (which concerned Alex), and Aaron was out with friends or driving. And, Mrs. Nardini, their neighbor was making sure mom was okay.
